time for a fresh start. hiya, i'm rem, i make sprite animations, art, play video games, write, and drink a lot (READ: LOT) of coffee.

working on PHANTOM PLOY with my character Joy, the greatest sprite-crossover since super mario bros. Z and an homage to all the shit we've found cool over the years.

i just don't understand why they lean so hard into some things but completely ignore others

movespeed being 1:1 with damage will still always pmo because as soon as you get hit by anything at all you are incapable of outrunning someone. shout outs to stun combat, too, i guess, because thats fun

me when im the ss14 devs and have to copy everything from /TG/ and make everything bland and uninteresting and have hostile and horrible staff and explicitly state in the rules that your characters cant have relationships and implement dogshit mechanics and delist servers For No Raisin

Games you wouldn't play. Books you wouldn't read. Decommercialise your preconceptions of what art deserves to exist

I understand that it's discouraging that these battles come up again and again and that we never get to permanently just say "NO".

But if you want a silver lining, think about how frustrated that makes you feel. They're not the only ones who can do that. We can also refuse to stop asking.

A small victory! Chat Control has been tabled for now, but it can [and likely will] be brought up for vote again in December

In the meantime, EU citizens will need to continue pressuring their respective govts to oppose chat control

Was just at a neighborhood school at dismissal. Hundreds of people with whistles surrounding the school and stationed down every block making sure ICE doesn’t snatch anyone. The same is happening at all the schools around here. I love my neighborhood and I love Chicago.

I see this a lot in online discourse about adult material or material dealing with dark topics. "But you wouldn't want a kid to read that, would you?" "What if a teenager sees the porn you drew?" "You want to help keep kids safe online, right?"
