The following year, in 2021, both Suzanna and the shearer had COVID-19, which made everything even worse. What remains from this time are the animals giving birth during the pandemic, especially the puppies. And the knowledge of one's own resilience.

to begin shearing despite her injured discs, alone. Due to the extremely late shearing, the quality of the wool suffered. And due to the lockdown, the wool could not be processed, resulting in another financial loss.

As @suzannacrampton.bsky.social tells, shearing was a huge challenge for farmers and shearers during the pandemic. Shearersfrom abroad were unable to enter, appointments were cancelled, it was chaotic. Larger flocks of sheep took priority, so Suzanna decided, after waiting a long time,

With patience and love, she managed to raise the lambs. And her followers have been following the daily videos online all over the world. They drew strength, courage, and hope from the videos. For which we all owe @suzannacrampton.bsky.social thanks. Forever.

In addition, several mother lambs died and she had eight orphaned lambs. More than ever before. Feeding eight lambs five times a day, day and night, was now her additional job in addition to lambing, caring for animals, etc. Sleep was almost only available in hourly increments.
