Edits update: I've taken to keeping a tally of amends completed today. Yesterday I did not and it was thoroughly miserable. I'm sure I made a lot of fixes, but all I could think about were the ones that stumped me. Morale is my most important resource here and very easily lost if careless.

My hot take is that none of these are structure. These are all recipes that describe structure.

Structure is the Salt, Fat, Acid Heat of writing.

3-Act/Hero's Journey etc are recipes.

You can make great meals without using a recipe if you understand the principles of structure.

My big idea for selling more books is a scholastic-style book fair but for office blocks and workplaces. Send round the catalogue in advance. Visit a few weeks later and set up ready for folks' lunch break. Of course, I have no idea what the cost of all this would be, but it would be rad as hell.

I've been in enough marketing brainstorms to spot an experiential stunt when I see one. This is designed to grab headlines on the gamble that the raised awareness will net a few more sales. I'd be interested to see the ROI numbers on this one.

Can you put into words what that purpose is? You and the frog have really become icons of this protest.

There’s been a nice overall whimsy that has shown up. The frog is amazing. We had a bunch of other inflatable people here last night, too. I saw people playing Twister the other day.

What they rely on is fear. So by coming out in an absurdist manner, it speaks to them, to some extent, that we’re actually not that afraid.

It also dismantles their narrative a little bit. When they try to describe this situation as “war-torn,” it becomes much harder to take them seriously when they have to post a video saying [U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security] Kristi Noem is up on the balcony staring over the Antifa Army and it’s, like, eight journalists and five protesters and one of them is in a chicken suit.

It took me waaaaay too long to find the term "chimney breast" today. I remember the days when I could have googled, "What's the sticky-out bit above a fireplace called?" and the correct answer would have been on the first page of results.
