Thought I’d begin my Bluesky journey with one of my favourite photos of 2024 - my first keynote speech - at the fantastic DevelopHER Awards.

I opened the talk with a quote from the Barbie movie - it seemed apt for an awards ceremony!
A woman stands on a stage in front of a projector screen with her arms open wide, looking at the audience. Behind her the projector screen displays a quote in white text on a bright pink background: “I’ve worked hard for this and I deserve it”. It is a quote from the Barbie movie.

Please do apply for this.

Disabled and neurodiverse folks are notorious for not putting ourselves forward for support due to feeling like a burden or like we don't deserve it.

I'm here to tell you WE DO DESERVE IT. We deserve equal access to this industry.

So APPLY

@intogames.bsky.social hello intogames folks - can you help me find your Free Tools page on your website?

It was such a fantastic tool to share with schools and also a way to show your work to educators - has it been removed or does it have a new URL?

Intogames.org/tools/ goes to a 404 page now?

Want to be a better ally but not sure where to start? Here are 4 things you could start doing right now:

1.) Speak up for trans rights. If you are a games studio, use your social platforms to support your trans employees. Visibility and allyship from cis people is more important than ever.

I saw that on itch and I can’t wait to get home this evening and have a play - I love anything that blends physical crafts and game elements ☺️

You definitely need to look after yourself and no time pressure from me - whenever the project is live I’ll be excited to see/play it ❤️

Here's a whole list of things you might need to hear right now (and even if you don't, we're reminding you anyway).

You exist, you matter, and you do not need to explain or justify that existence to anyone. 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️
Bold text reads "Your existence is not an ideology. It is a fact." Pride rainbow heart.

Went to the @norfolkgamedevs.bsky.social AGM meeting yesterday and was once again reminded that Norwich is filled with lots of lovely games people who put a lot of energy into keeping the place welcoming and making it more active on the games industry front 💖

Given recent conversations in the industry, I wanted to highlight some amazing organizations, resources, and community-driven groups working hard to advance accessibility in gaming. There’s a lot of great work happening — and it deserves more visibility.

A thread ♿️♥️

Hello everyone! Now that everyone is moving to this platform, I'll do a small intro! 👋

I'm an artist who loves creating stylized 3D art. Worked on an animated short which will be released to the public fairly soon!

Here is an asset piece of the film. Hope to start sharing more on here!

I was invited to attend the Norfolk Economic Strategy launch at The House of Lords this week! Felt fantastic to get to share why I think games are a part of the future for region.

Had some great conversations about the role of Farming Simulator in Agri-Tech!

I got to impart some heartfelt but stern instructions to the audience on how to accept an award;

⭐️ don’t apologise

⭐️ don’t put your success on anyone else

⭐️ do thank people for their support

⭐️ do share things you are proud of (projects, initiatives, achievements)

⭐️ it can be short and sweet!

Hello Bluesky! We’re a small indie team working on our upcoming game Brewess, a little cosy game about crafting ales and building friendships. ✨

We’re building it in #godot and working with artists who are new to game creation ☺️ we look forward to sharing more with you!

An illustration in a tudor/medieval style depicting a woman standing in a doorway holding a tankard of ale. Light from inside the building illuminates the scene. A black cat circles around her feet and she is wearing Tudor-style clothing. Around the edge of the piece is an illustrated border which includes shield-style ‘sigils’ and barley framing the bottom corners of the image. At the bottom of the image is the hand-drawn title of the game; BREWESS.
