The Taoiseach creates a false choice here. Climate Action is about making life better, making energy cheaper, making our atmosphere cleaner.
But that requires leadership. We see none from this Government.

Micheál Martin raises the white flag on achieving our climate targets 🏳️
A Government with no leadership, no ambition and no ideas.

🏠Having a warm place to live should not depend solely on a landlord's decision.

❗We need a Government strategy to ensure that everyone benefits from this retrofit revolution with increased incentives and minimum BER standards for rental properties.

The Land-hoarding Tax (RZLT) was introduced last year. It's been a success. 2,000 returns filed. Over €40 million eared to the State.
Why is the Government allowing another year for landowners to seek an exemption? Land zone for housing needs to be brought into use now.

Nothing in the Budget to advance a Public Model of Childcare.
Big reforms like this take time, need to be supported through each budget. The Government is failing to progress this vital reform that will address affordability and capacity.

Government using a sledgehammer to crack a nut here 🥜

A more targeted scheme would have delivered better value to taxpayers while supporting the businesses who need it most.

It's official. They're giving big restaurant chains a massive tax cut, costing nearly €700m in the #VAT cut to hospitality.

For that kind of money you could:

👨‍👩‍👦‍👦 Bring in a second tier of child benefit - lifting 55,000 children out of poverty
🚌 Make public transport free

Over the summer, the Government raided the Climate & Nature fund to pay for gaps in their infrastructure bill. Today's Budget could have fixed that and committed new investment for nature and the environment.
Unfortunately, there has been no change in their approach. A wasted opportunity.

Concerns about privacy is a significant issue that’s been raised with me. In my bill, I’ve focused on the noise and planning issues, but absolutely recognise other concerns need to be addressed too.

And that’s why I’m publishing legislation to fill the gaps in the existing laws. Hopefully Government won’t block these common sense measures.

Drones have a value in our society, but they are a really new technology and there has to be rules about how they work.

That's why I have drafted a law to regulate delivery drones, addressing the issues raised in Dublin 15 and that the Govt have so far ignored.

Responding to user demand, Dublin Bus is adding extra services on the 39A route for the morning and evening peak times.

If you have any feedback on capacity issues on your own bus route, please get in touch and I'll be happy to submit to Dublin Bus / Go Ahead / the NTA.

Manchán was a powerful voice for our language, our culture and for maintaining the natural beauty of our island. May he rest in peace
greenpartyie.bsky.social
We’re deeply saddened to hear of Manchán’s passing. A candidate for the party in 2016, he was more importantly a passionate and skilled advocate for Irish language and culture, and an appreciation for the beauty and importance of nature.

The very best to Áine and Mary as they finish up on Morning Ireland today. They have put questions to their guests without fear or favour, and have made a massive contribution to public discourse in our country.

The combined support of @rodericogorman.bsky.social & @malcolmnoonan.bsky.social allow us to advocate for action at the highest levels of Government. Party leaders can ask more detailed Qs and Senator Noonan is on the Oireachtas Ctte on Climate, Energy & Environment.

in the Presidential Election.

Catherine's powerful advocacy - on the genocide in Gaza, on resilient communities and on climate change - shows she gives voice to the issues of our time. I look forward to campaigning with her 🗳️

The Green Party is backing Catherine Connolly in this Presidential Election.

Catherine’s advocacy on climate and for the most vulnerable in our society reflects the values that should guide the Presidency.

This decision follows consultation with members, elected representatives and spokespersons.

Do we need to move responsibility to the Dept. of Transport?

School buses give families more options in how they can organise their days, and they reduce traffic and our transport emissions too. But every year hundreds are left without a space.
