I'm just one person, and my programming needs are somewhat unusual (building various kinds of statistical forecasting models). But I'm just not seeing the consistent productivity gains from LLMs that I would have expected if you'd asked me 6 months ago.

Yeah it'll potentially really suck, but ultimately we'll be able to get through the storm. It'll just be another kinda personal financial reset point, which is really starting to get old at this point

Yeah, I was just hoping we could get past the point where my wife and I need to move cross country again. Maybe it'll be like 2008 where everything kinda went to shit in the background for a while before the market allowed it to fully collapse after they had tried to cover themselves a bit?

I don't like how frequently this keeps being brought up now tbh. If it could wait another year before collapsing the world economy *again* that would be great, and not just be another in a series of economic catastrophes that arrive at the perfect time to fuck us over as much as possible

Also it only rains in average 80 days per year, but still has higher rainfall totals than London because it likes to go hard when it does rain usually, so no fucking around with drizzle for days on end just a nice quick downpour and back to sun

I'll do you one better, Western Australia winters. In Perth the average low is 8.1°C in winter, with an average high of 18.5°C, and when it does get hot in summer the heat is dry as, and you usually get a cooling sea breeze from about 2-3pm every day

The cold dries out my skin and makes it hard to get out of bed and do anything while forcing me to wear more clothes, the dark depletes my vitamin D and makes it impractical to relax outside and means I'm commuting into low sun that wants to blind me constantly.
