When you deadname or misgender someone just because you dislike them you are still perpetuating transphobia. Bigotry remains bigotry no matter who the target is.

it didn't take a lot to reach that usually high bar in this case specifically because the defendant is transgender and we live in a society which constantly tells everyone to hate transgender people.

So there is no two ways about it. Ciara Watkin was imprisoned for being transgender. That's a fact.

Quite probably, though i also noticed that people who use bad arguments would always throw out logical fallacies they didn't understand thinking they were some magic 'i win' button after it was used against them well before ai became a thing.
