I write and I co-founded TransWrites.world / @TransWrites.world with Lee Hurley to platform trans voices around the world. I'd say we're not doing so bad at it so far.

here's an idea

every time you see a bigoted rage bait piece in the guardian or wherever else (you shouldn't, don't read the guardian. they are bigoted shitheads.) how about instead of sharing that piece you share some cool work by trans people.

music, art, writing, poetry or anything! just trans.
"SHAME ON THE GUARDIAN FOR PUBLISHING THIS!

<FULL LINK TO THE GUARDIAN ARTICLE>"

please for the love of fuck can you all understand they are doing this on purpose because outrage generates more clicks than agreement SPECIFICALLY BECAUSE YOU ARE SHARING IT.

STOP IT.

STOP IT NOW.
gillick competence is the test for agency in medical contexts.

I don't disagree they shouldn't have banned this medication for trans youth in order to carry out a trial. They could have just carried out a trial without doing that.

But here we are.
November 25, 2025 at 9:43 AM
no we are talking about the nature of agency in medical contexts and I used an extreme example of how your agency is never absolute.
November 25, 2025 at 9:40 AM
it is both things whether we like it or not

parents are not allowed to veto. but if you, as a youth, don't have a reliable means of attending the trial with regularity - you are not going to be considered a good candidate for the trial. hence parental support being preferred.
November 25, 2025 at 9:38 AM
someone can always veto your agency. even yours as an adult.

You couldn't ask to have a leg cut off just cos you really wanted it and in fact people have been convicted of doing such procedures for such people.
November 25, 2025 at 9:36 AM
then a kid can still pursue it, though unlikely to be accepted.

trials much prefer when a kid is properly supported in the family home for the neatness of their data sets.

fwiw @ people who are like "gillick? Wtf is that"

It's basically just some shit that means youths get a say in what happens to their bodies in medical contexts including being able to request doctors appointments without a parent.

There's limits and all that jazz, of course. but yeah; agency.

calling the cops on black people for sassing you too hard is ironically a very white thing to do.
November 25, 2025 at 9:25 AM
idk who wrote any of that but Tldr parent/guardian consent is going to be needed to sign a kid up to the trial but this wouldn't "bypass gillick". The youth involved still has agency here unless proven otherwise - and it's a pretty high bar to clear to prove otherwise.
Last time I saw explicit information, the clinical trial was said to require parental consent which bypasses Gillick Competence, but since, I have seen the words "Gillick competence" used in the documentation, but the meaning was unclear. This really needs checking.

literally; outside of actually classified narcotics like cocaine and mdma

There is absolutely no medication/drug which is treated anywhere near like this. And this is before we even get to the fact that it's only banned SPECIFICALLY for trans youth.

cis youth? can still get it.
November 25, 2025 at 9:16 AM
the reason any all of this is happening now is, according to Streeting et Al, to "build the evidence" which supports (or in their preferences; opposes) the use of hormone blockers for trans youth.

a complete lack of evidence of anything bad just bigot vibes. and Govt just handed them the reins.
November 25, 2025 at 9:13 AM
why? certainly not because the medication was found to be harmful - because it absolutely was not for the avoidance of any and all doubt.

They also didn't find any over prescription or over reliance on the medication. if anything, doctors were too reticent to prescribe, according to findings.

you can name basically any healthcare at all. ones with obvious known dangers, ones with lesser known dangers. From radiation being shot directly into your eyes to botulinum toxin injected into your lips. they're all available both on NHS or via private.

But not hormone blockers if you're trans.

at absolute best the Cass Review should only impact NHS trans youth healthcare.

But by banning hormone blockers for trans youth as a whole it essentially collapsed any potential for youths to avoid government sanctioned pathways if they wanted to.

No other citizen is treated this way in the UK.
Exactly. I keep hearing this in news & remember reading the review & it saying something where PBs were considered necessary they should be given sooner or it was just extra medication for no outcome & also that GIDS shouldn't be so London centric & appointments should be quicker & more accessible?!

Idk how many times people are gonna have to say "stop using ai it is literally killing us" before people listen.

No not even as a joke. don't go near this shit.
In Morrow County, healthy adults were coming down with unexplained medical conditions, including diseases that usually afflicted the elderly.

In a survey of 30 homes, at least 25 miscarriages and a half dozen people living with one kidney were reported.

yes. trans peoples fault. all the time.
November 25, 2025 at 8:45 AM
yes you should blame trans people for the behaviour of cis people

We did it

im not saying you have to like her or her output by the way. you don't! disagree with her etc.

but yeah no shit her output is, primarily, fucking morbid as all hell. if you hadn't noticed shit is kinda morbid as all hell for trans people across the world right now!
November 24, 2025 at 7:51 PM
i dont know you or your work really. but as an outside observer looking in on this tussle it doesn't make you look good to, instead of saying the above, go on a tirade about how she's a doomposter who makes everyone feel bad.

its not very "trans ally" to do this to one of our most prominent voices
November 24, 2025 at 7:49 PM
tldr from my understanding Carabello has accused an org you're part of of supporting anti-trans harassment via an amica curiae which argues that misgendering students is basically free speech, correct?

so your response should be why that take is not good rather than "this bitch crazy", right???
November 24, 2025 at 5:12 PM
Can you explain what is unhinged about this? As yet it looks mostly like you're just being a shit head to a trans woman which doesn't look great for you ngl.

A brief explanation might go some way towards fixing that image.

but thats probably because 90% of the time he's on his phone he's probably just tapping in "call AOC a bitch" into grok while he waits for the k-hole to take him in its warm embrace.

so it kinda is that for him
