We use MOEA optimisation to support decisions for #wildfire risk reduction (e.g., where should we use prescribed burning to reduce risk?). Optimisation improves fuel treatment plan effectiveness by 80–280% and adapts to changing objectives.

Have you ever been confused by the way the same fire term (e.g fire severity) is used to represent a whole range of metrics🔥? Particularly if you are new to the field? In this piece we emphasise the need to careful explain and link fire metrics to relevant ecological mechanisms. Hope it's useful!

This work is looking at forest regeneration post Black Summer with a range of previous disturbances (fire 🔥 or harvesting 🪵) in low elevation mixed forests around East Gippsland.
