Do you love researching #History of #Science #Medicine or #Technology? #CFP now open for abstracts for the #HSTM Annual Meeting 26 April 2026 @unioflimerick.bsky.social CALL CLOSES 15 Jan 2026. This is a very friendly conference for those interested in how humans have constructed knowledge

I did a minor option in Public Administration in first year undergrad. Have a guess what letter was regularly missed in that.

Thanks Dónal!

He doesn't, it's true. (And isn't he right). Delighted with it.

The first review of my book is in! Thanks to Sean Connolly for a typically perceptive read in the latest issue of Irish Economic and Social History. Appropriately, I'll be taking over as co-editor of this very journal in the new year.
Apropos of the CFP announcement for the 2026 @ssnci.bsky.social conference, I have been making my way (slowly) through @marcmulholland.bsky.social new book and it is excellent and very thought provoking. Will be great to hear from him, @leannecalvert.bsky.social & Fionnuala Dillane. 🗃️

We are delighted to announce that we'll be hosting the SSNCI conference in Maynooth next June. Call for papers attached. Please spread far and wide!

Sorry I missed it!
TFW your extremely niche area of academic research is in the news! A 🧵 on some aspects of the building formerly known as the Pro-Cathedral (or the Metropolitan chapel as it was called first!) www.rte.ie/news/ireland...
Pro-Cathedral designated Dublin's Catholic cathedral
Pope Leo XIV has designated St Mary's Pro Cathedral in Dublin as the city's official Catholic Cathedral, becoming the first in the capital for 500 years.

Carmen, that's lovely to hear! Thank you!

My Dad wrote a song for Foster and Allen many moons ago!

Great to hear!

Thanks Kevin!

Thanks to @petergray47.bsky.social for doing the honours. This flyer says a little about the book and offers a 30% discount.

It was lovely to launch my book at the 35th Irish Conference of Historians on Friday, and be able to thank Maynooth History colleagues for helping to make it happen (the launch, but also the book itself!)

You would think - though 'God's house' is meant to be taken literally!

Thanks Erika!

Thanks Henry! Hope all is well with you.
