It is knowledge and science for critical management decisions and environmental governance extends more broadly than EuroAmerican systems grounded in this cosmography (centering humans in science, meaning, and decisions around land). We need the most data to make the best evidence-based decisions.

This is a major planetary security issue, for humans, nonhumans, ecosystems, and for futures. The anthropocentric approach of considering the planet as a "resource" for human use has led to ecological collapse and climate crises.

I will be talking about my work in Alaska that has led me to this Fulbright, and what I am working on currently from learnings in Nunavut and my planned trip in Sapmi. This addresses the lack of inclusion of Indigenous Knowledges and Sciences in land, onshore water, and ocean management decisions.

@ntnsndr.in @sauyaq.bsky.social What happens "in real life" which supports any of us to "have hope"? What happens which does not support people to "keep going", too, eh? What's "worth anticipating", is "worth the doing, even if & when outcomes are uncertain"? Indeed, "commitment", & "practice", eh?

This @today.yougov.com poll is why I'm going to become the Joker.

The US murder rate in 2024 was likely down nearly 30 percent relative to 2020 and down nearly 50 percent relative to 1990.

If you're a visual learner: white represents money FEMA is granting to build detention centers. Blue represents too much money to spend saving little girls (and a hundred other people) from drowning
