Liberal Currents is one of the most relevant publications in circulation today; actively staking out and defining the ideological stakes of the 21st century like nobody else. I'm honored to be a contributor, and can't think of anybody more deserving of your support.

Yesterday a donor pledged to match our second $35,000, meaning that once we hit $70,000, he would pay us an additional $35,000. In just two days, we have hit that threshold. Thank you to everyone who made this possible. With the match, we'll be at 21% of the way to our goal, in just two days.

If we hit $70k today and $35k was matched by our donor, we would get to 21% of our goal. Crowdfunding campaigns that crack 20% are highly likely to meet their goals. Please help us hit this important milestone gofund.me/638697766

Thank you @jvl.bsky.social for your kind words of support.

And a huge thank you to the giver of the large donation earlier this evening that has us now within striking distance of making it to $70,000 tonight. Each dollar until we hit that mark is being matched by another generous donor.

I’m really basking in this bc during the primary, I got a lot of heat from centrist YIMBY types calling me overly credulous/deluded for saying Zohran would be a good mayor and would support building more housing

never have I been happier to have been vindicated

Tapping the sign that says

“middle class people felt richer in the 50s & 60s because their houses and cars were smaller and many expensive medical treatments were undiscovered leaving them with a greater % discretionary income”

Unlike a lot of Montanans I try to be nice to Californians who move here but I’ll admit there are two groups I cannot stand (they have a lot of overlap):

-Californians who constantly talk shit about their own state
-“I left because it was getting too woke”

People say they expected Mountain View or Los Altos but this seems right to me - Portola Valley, Atherton, etc, with big low density lots that rarely change hands & thus don’t get re-appraised often
"We label jurisdictions like [these dark blue ones] “municipal tax havens” for the way they shield property wealth from taxation."

Are the dark blue areas the ones that you expected based on that description?

It's a little unclear in the passage at the end of the first para, is it Glasman himself who "wants to restore dignity in employment and see an end to the cycle of welfare dependency"?
End of the cycle of welfare dependency gives me Clinton flashbacks, makes me want to scream.
