Ich hab damit auch lange gehadert, bis ich von mehreren Amerikanerinnen inkl. einer Übersetzerin und eine Lektorin gesagt bekommen habe, dass mein Englisch besser ist, als das von viele muttersprachlichen Autoren.

Das höre ich so oft von Frauen. Lichtlein unter dem Scheffel.

Ich gehe mal davon aus, dass du verhandlungssicher Englisch sprichst. Und wahrscheinlich ein größeres und besseres Vokabular hast, als die meisten Männer, die sich als verhandlungssicher bezeichnen.

It's never really talked about just how much the US influenced the writing of the German Basic Law and some of the other institutions. It's something we don't learn at school.

Hopefully that's changed, but when I was in school we learned nothing about post-WWII Germany. We barely covered WWII.

True, but they are already hard at work undermining the Bundesverfassungsgericht. And too many people in the judiciary are blind on the right eye.

And Dobrindt right now is doing a Trump by ignoring existing law and orders from the courts.

Not really? I mean, Merz is a mini-Trump and the Afd is gaining power. They won't get a full majority, but a CDU/CSU/AfD-coalition is becoming a possibility.

We can't even get rid of Thiel-buddy Jens Spahn and there's a whole bag full of reasons to prosecute him.

Frauen, die fließend Englisch können, bezeichnen ihre Kenntnisse als akzeptabel oder ausbaufähig.

Männer, die drei Brocken beherrschen und mehr denglisch als englisch reden, geben an, dass sie verhandlungssicher Englisch sprechen.

Ich hatte einen vor der Nase sitzen, der mit mir darüber diskutieren wollte, wie lange ich brauche, um die Spülmaschine ein- und auszuräumen.

Während er mich brauchte, um ihm in Meetings zu sagen, was seine Kunden so machen. Oder bei Wikipedia rumsurfte.

Ja, ich bin dann irgendwann gegangen.

Sounds like my dad's office. After his death, we pulled out 3 or 4 desktops in various states of usability, several monitors, at least two printers, tool and gadgets, and a ton computer of books and magazines going all the way back to the mid/late nineties. 😂

I'm moving next month and just discovered that I have a huge box of cables and adapters in the basement and in most cases no idea what they are for and to which device they belong(ed).

I might harvest some of them for their copper, though, before bringing the rest to the recycling center.

Ein Freund ist Koch und arbeitet in einer Klinik. wo noch selbst gekocht wird. Er meinte, man kann mit dem Budget gut und nährreich kochen kann. Auch Spezialdiäten.
Aber man muss gut planen können, sich mit den regionalen Lieferanten auseinandersetzen und nicht einfach alles im Großmarkt bestellen.

This is such a good idea. Just think about all the Aldi/Lidl/Obi/etc. parking lots being forced to put those up. How much energy could they produce? Plus shade for parking. Or being able to put everything into the trunk without balancing an umbrella.
