Columbus Day only exists to placate Italians, which is dumb because Columbus makes Italians look bad and was so self-interested that he left Italy to go enrich another country and himself, whereas the country and continent we live on is literally named after a different Italian explorer.

Denigrating Columbus isn’t revisionist history, Columbus Day is. In his own time, Columbus was viewed as a scumbag and was arrested and stripped of his position for brutality, which is a polite way of saying raping, torturing, and murdering the people he was supposed to be governing.

Whatever AI is capable of, there’s always still a human being responsible for what it does, and we should hold them responsible. If an empty car rolls down a hill and hits someone, we blame the person who parked it or who installed the brakes.

I freelance with a lot of different companies who all talk about AI, and anytime they describe what they do, it’s more time and work to get it to do exactly what you want than if you’d just asked a person, and they still need a person to monitor it, so it replaces nothing.

A lot of the uses of AI are popular right now because they are free or cheap, which is only true because AI companies are being subsidized with investor money which is basically speculation. As soon as consumers are charged what it actually costs to produce these results, they’ll stop using it.

He knows he can’t go after Obama or Biden because that would require the Supreme Court to confirm whether a former President can be prosecuted and he wants the answer to be “no,” so either it wouldn’t work or they’d allow it which would mean he could be prosecuted when he leaves office.

Oh, thanks, it never occurred to me I could just not sleep and work all night if it’s more convenient for the client not to do things in a timely manner. And I’m sure my job performance will be great the following day when I work for 12 hours on no rest.

She also seems to be illiterate enough not to realize that “thought police” isn’t like the fashion police where it’s just people judging you. It’s a reference to actual police taking people into custody and punishing them for their thoughts, kind of like this administration is attempting.

I live in one of the most diverse parts of the country and have never been unemployed. Everybody is willing to hire white people, and white people are getting plenty of opportunities for grants. If you don’t get one, it’s not because there’s a less or equally qualified POC, it’s because you suck.

We need a denazification effort after this administration. Anything named after Trump or by Trump needs to be renamed. All red hats must be gathered up and dumped in the Mariana Trench. “Truth” Social should be confiscated and given over to a panel of librarians to run.
