Even if this weren’t just racial profiling (it is), having reasonable suspicion would give them the authority to stop your vehicle and ask to see your documentation. Only if you didn’t have it or provide it could they treat this as obstruction and escalate. But she had documentation and provided it.

Remember, a non-citizen being in the country without approval is a civil offense. It’s not an emergency situation and you don’t inherently pose a threat that requires heightened action.

People are most often inconsiderate out of stupidity, like it doesn’t occur to them why that area is marked off aside from just not being for cars. I once saw someone park their car in front of an empty handicapped spot because they understood they couldn’t park in it but they were still blocking it
