An E train was waiting when I got here & I am probably going to regret not just taking the 1:45 LIRR option bc we have not moved (it's been close to 10 min?) because the train in front of us has a door issue. Fun! But the subway requires so much less walking when I get home. And there are elevators.

The announcements on my Amtrak train today are so chaotic. One guy is so damn loud that the woman across the aisle from me fully jumped the last time he got on the PA. The cafe car attendant read out the *entire* menu. Someone else just helpfully said "the doors will open on the platform side." 🤦🏻‍♀️

I have several baseball-related (and frankly, journalism-related) thoughts, but this was a ton of fun. Ana is exactly the Lola I was expecting (that's a compliment, I love her), Jordan's voice remains a national treasure, & Rob is having the time of his life. Bryonha Marie as Meg was also fantastic.

Time for what's becoming an annual / sometimes semi-annual DC theater tradition. Super excited to see this one.

Program for "Damn Yankees" at Arena Stage held up with the stage in the background. It is a small theater in the round (about 8 rows on each side) with the show title projected in lights on the rectangular stage floor and four silhouettes of baseball players in the corners of the floor.
