If you rename the Department of Defense the Department of War, then bomb fishing boats in the Caribbean, and shoot an unarmed priest in the head with a pepper bullet, you should automatically be barred from receiving the Nobel Peace Prize for the rest of your life.

If Obama, Kissinger or Gandhi (down with the Gandhi propaganda) got a Nobel Peace Prize, I don’t see why Trump shouldn’t get one either. That prize holds no meaning whatsoever anyway. No need to overexert yourself in that debate.

I’m seeing a lot of “wow, look at all these Gen Z protests”-articles that lump all of these very legitimate protests in very different countries together. Just because young people lead them, and most use the One Piece logo. This is lazy journalism.

I think the Van Jones comments prove sth we've all been noticing: a lot of commentators have turned off their very human responses to the very real images of dead children in Gaza to continue being able to legitimize what's happening. You can only escape them by completely shutting down emotionally.

Police say they are responding to an incident in Crumpsall, Greater Manchester Greater Manchester Police said a suspect has been shot and four people have suffered injuries caused by a vehicle and stabbings at a synagogue in Crumpsall north of the city. The force said: Police were called to the Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation Synagogue, on Middleton Road, Crumpsall, at 9.31am by a member of the public, stating he had witnessed a car being driven towards members of the public, and one man had been stabbed. An observation: Big liberal podcasts in the US spend a lot of time dissecting the “correct strategy” for Democrats. Of course, public discourse shapes politics, but wouldn’t their platform be more effective spotlighting concrete causes and events rather than debating endless hypotheticals?

As a journalist, my scariest horror movie is post-hoc narrativization. It's hard enough to "describe reality", but when people (or institutions) build a neat story about something after it has already happened, my ears perk up, and I'm on the edge of my seat. Much of journalism these days does this.
