5pm on November 1: let’s go for a walk, it’s still light out!

5pm on November 2: an early darkness blankets the land. Fallow fields lay bone-bleached by moonlight. The last memories of summer fade into oblivion. The last echoes of hope lapse into baleful silence.

Whether you’re a fan of Hallowe’en or not, you have to give it credit for being the last line of defence against Christmas advancing even earlier into the year, a ragtag gang of goths holding the line against a battalion of baubled barbarians

We’re marking #BannedBooksWeekUK with Margaret Atwood on The Handmaid’s Tale as our free film of the week on Hay Festival Anytime.

Enjoy! www.hayfestival.org/anytime/
Hungry Heart by Jennifer Weiner, Talking as Fast as I Can by Lauren Graham and The Getaway Car by Ann Patchett
I use the Kobo app on my ipad as well. Works perfectly.
I love my Kobo, and unlike the kindle it works with libraries too.
And Ontario’s 😆

Save Our Bacon, Save the CBC!

Picture this: a sizzling plate of Canadian bacon… but wait—it's shaped like the CBC logo! Because just like our beloved public broadcaster, it's a national treasure.

The CBC isn’t just radio waves and pixels; it’s the voice that keeps us connected, the stories (cont)
Also found The Storyteller's Daughter and The House on the Water ebooks on Kobo for 3.99 and 0.99 Canadian $. So looking forward to reading!
I wish it were helpful because I do love a glass of wine, but the second I have a drink in my hands I'm looking for the remote control and a bag of chips! It derails motivation and makes me sleepy.
I am still obsessed with this book and re-read once a year - the tension, the setting, the ATMOSPHERE. My 21 year old self probably would have found Max irresistible, but this old lady would run for the hills if I saw him coming now, lol!

Ghost Hunting usually starts early in your life. I don't like the term Ghost Hunting, all the same. I prefer the term Ghost Finding.
Strike ended yesterday, unfortunately the gov’t ordered them back to work before anything was resolved

What better on a cold and wet winter’s night to listen to The Shadow key a gothic tale
There’s something devilish going on in the quiet Welsh village of Penhelyg. Will the shadow key unlock its dark secrets?
