Every surgery I have I wonder if it's worth it to take narcotic pain medication - digestive distress, sleep disruption, ITCHINESS, loopiness - and I try to go without.

And then I remember that the inside of my throat has been sliced into and stretched apart, and I take the fucking oxy.
