Yep!!!! I’ve had to rework many a script bc some folks think comics = animation or is a movie when it’s static , so often a action needs to be broken down into smaller panels or restructured !!

I can’t recommend enough that if you want to become a comic writer, you need to read comics. It’s so tempting to try to shove a wall of text into one page or a ton of scene changes, but that makes it really hard on artists to be able to properly adapt that

as rough as this past year has been for me in particular, I never would have found myself or pockets of community and work and be able to make things or survive without social media; I still keep notes and screenshots of the kind words friends and strangers have said abt my work / art, it helps

I've been humbled by people I've never even met hanging my art in their homes. During hard times, strangers have written to me to tell me my art was important to them. I've gotten to know people from all over the world who I'm grateful to call my friends. Social media made all of this possible

The writer of this RINGO NOM’D INDIE COMIC (and a very dear friend of mine) is a Syrian Refugee who has been through more continuous hardships than I have space to list here; constantly navigating visa applications, unstable living conditions, predatory landlords (limited options as a refugee).

Anas just wants to make comics and live a normal life like what so many of us take for granted. Backing this campaign will help Anas to take the next step toward freedom and autonomy, helping to fund a move to another country with more stable employment options. This is truly one of the most important comics purchases you will ever make.

Middle Eastern and North African comics creators are some of the most underrepresented in the comics industry of the western world. Anas isn’t running a GoFundMe to support this move, and is not asking for charity. Simply, Anas is using their talent for storytelling, along with Dennis’ gorgeous art, to offer you a beautiful experience in the comics medium, that also goes toward funding a better life for Anas.
