Carriage Driver, ex-Cop, ex-Scientist, yeah it's a weird resume. Newport, RI, the best little city in the best little state.

Very mixed feeling about this.
It would be a disaster, but it will also be much harder to make the case that Dems have anything whatsoever to do with it.
I remember him in his prime.
He has always been ignorant and dishonest.
But, he used to be quite clever and perceptive.
Charming, even.
He is definitely losing that ability.
AND nvidia is up 2%, which shows how crazy this is.

Today, Mike Johnson will keep the House adjourned for the 84th day out of the last 96.

12 days of work in over 3 months.

With full pay and benefits.

The senate has been working, so this is not about the shutdown.

It is about avoiding a vote to release the Epstein files.
The Republican Party has always apposed the New Deal.
We are now at the point where nobody remembers what it was like before it.
Well, we are going to get a reminder.
Trump has dictatorial control over US trade.
Nobody (including Trump) has a clue what he will do tomorrow.
There is no 'policy' there is no 'framework' there are no 'deals'.
There is just what an addle brained, ignorant, grifter feels like doing today.
It will get worse before it gets better.
The odd thing is we have government polices that are subsidizing housing on the one hand and making it difficult to build on the other.
The NAZIs had better costume designers.
I think it's both.
I've built a good bit of 'me'.
But it is sitting on a foundation of qualities I just have.
For better and worse.
This is a big problem with the left.
Some want equality.
Some just want change who is on top.
Although I wish it weren't true, conservatives are consistently more active in the day to day workings of government. Voting, attending meetings, joining boards, fundraising, bugging elected officials, etc.
Until Trump gets pissed about something he saw on TV or social media.

I know this is obvious. And I know we all know this.
But if the President can raise taxes because an advert annoyed him, without even consulting Congress, then the US constitution is simply not functioning as intended.
Yes.
Trump is no Putin.
He admires Putin, but that is different.
He is a mid-tier fraudster who became President by an accident of circumstance. His 'inner circle' is a combination of grifters, climbers, simpleton marks and a few lunatic ideologues. They don't form a coherent 'regime'.
Most white men have never been in charge of anything.
Powerful white men have conned working class white men (and even white women) into believing they have common interests.
It is the oldest, and most successful, lie in American politics.
It is an strange fact that the most vocal supporters of 'survival of the fittest' racism are usually not, in fact 'the fittest'.
I once had a local Republican politician explain to me (with a straight face) how being anti-racist is racist.
Trump has normalized Orwellian doublespeak.
Trump's fundamental worldview is feudal.
He doesn't want to take us back, he is honestly unaware that anybody takes democracy seriously. He believes democracy is a con the elites run on the peasants.
The US is, in fact, huge.
It is also mostly empty.
So cars make allot of sense for the few people who live in the empty parts of the country.
But not for most Americans.
Hassett is a very smart and well educated guy who has made a successful career saying stupid stuff for hire.
Somehow I find that more depressing than the number people who believe him, despite the fact that he is consistently, demonstrably, publicly, very very wrong, all the time.
Being a top cyclist means you are the best at getting your body to function beyond its normal limits.
It's not going to be healthy.
Wow, it's amazing how quickly they got all the variances and permits and stuff.
Oh that's right, Roberts say Trump is exempt from all that stuff.
