Carriage Driver, ex-Cop, ex-Scientist, yeah it's a weird resume. Newport, RI, the best little city in the best little state.

The NAZIs had better costume designers.
I think it's both.
I've built a good bit of 'me'.
But it is sitting on a foundation of qualities I just have.
For better and worse.
This is a big problem with the left.
Some want equality.
Some just want change who is on top.
Although I wish it weren't true, conservatives are consistently more active in the day to day workings of government. Voting, attending meetings, joining boards, fundraising, bugging elected officials, etc.
Until Trump gets pissed about something he saw on TV or social media.

I know this is obvious. And I know we all know this.
But if the President can raise taxes because an advert annoyed him, without even consulting Congress, then the US constitution is simply not functioning as intended.
Yes.
Trump is no Putin.
He admires Putin, but that is different.
He is a mid-tier fraudster who became President by an accident of circumstance. His 'inner circle' is a combination of grifters, climbers, simpleton marks and a few lunatic ideologues. They don't form a coherent 'regime'.
Most white men have never been in charge of anything.
Powerful white men have conned working class white men (and even white women) into believing they have common interests.
It is the oldest, and most successful, lie in American politics.
It is an strange fact that the most vocal supporters of 'survival of the fittest' racism are usually not, in fact 'the fittest'.
I once had a local Republican politician explain to me (with a straight face) how being anti-racist is racist.
Trump has normalized Orwellian doublespeak.
Trump's fundamental worldview is feudal.
He doesn't want to take us back, he is honestly unaware that anybody takes democracy seriously. He believes democracy is a con the elites run on the peasants.
The US is, in fact, huge.
It is also mostly empty.
So cars make allot of sense for the few people who live in the empty parts of the country.
But not for most Americans.
Hassett is a very smart and well educated guy who has made a successful career saying stupid stuff for hire.
Somehow I find that more depressing than the number people who believe him, despite the fact that he is consistently, demonstrably, publicly, very very wrong, all the time.
Being a top cyclist means you are the best at getting your body to function beyond its normal limits.
It's not going to be healthy.
Wow, it's amazing how quickly they got all the variances and permits and stuff.
Oh that's right, Roberts say Trump is exempt from all that stuff.

Thanks to John Roberts, Trump gets to pay himself hundreds of millions in taxpayer dollars because, according to Roberts, the president controls all executive branch personnel and all of their decisions—and there’s probably nothing anyone can do about it.
As Trump plans to steal $230 million from taxpayers, we can thank John Roberts
Shall we call it a "Roberts reward"?

Rich people live where they want to live,
because, follow me here..... THEY ARE RICH.
I disagree.
Very few people 'welcome' disaster.
A substantial minority work to avoid it.
Most people simply ignore the possibility.
And they are more likely than not to be the 'people whose homes are destroyed by the disaster'.
It often takes a disaster to motivate real reform.
Even if the experts are thinking:
'It would have been easier before the f**kin' disaster.'
'onto public intellectuals & writers'
How about onto everyone.
Once had a friend on the School Board complain that I (and others) were not supporting her enough.
I asked why she was not supporting me on the Zoning Board. She honestly had no clue what, if anything, was going on at the Zoning Board.
This is one of the most infuriating things about the rise of MAGA.
When Trump or his minions say offensive stuff, much of the press edits it to make it palatable to average people.
'confidently-wrong' should be the motto of this administration.
There is a reason why top level athletes are so diverse.
That is what fair competition produces.
This is a microcosm of MAGA.
People who genuinely believe that in a world of unbridled competition they would come out on top.
While they can't run a block without faceplanting.
Wow. They are wrecking the ACA, with nothing to replace it.
How many people are simply going to go without insurance and cross their fingers???
