Say, do you have any examples of how their out-of-game experience helped them in the game? Sounds pretty interesting.

Also tips for running the game that might not be in the book, or that could trip me up would be appreciated too, if you have any advice like that.

I'll likely scrape misc. discords I'm in first, since I'll know what sort of people I'm dealing with in those, it's just vaguely a pain to know I can't pull from the usual crowd because they'll be too quick to shoot creepy kids.

As I'm getting closer to running Delta Green I realise I have to look outside my usual player recruitment circles due to the nature of Delta Green.
Both to preserve the tone of the game, and because some of the regulars can't handle that kind of subject matter.

On principle I disagree with calling them any more pointless than a non-licensed TTRPG, but I do think a lot of effort needs to be put in to make the unique aspects of a setting come through in the rules, and I think a lot of them fail at doing that.

Ultimately they're just there to make sure you know what's what and where it is on the map.
Whether you use minis, cardboard cutouts, dice, coins, or cheap plastic animal figures, as long as they serve that function, they're totally good.
