That's exactly how I felt! I went in kind of expecting to be disappointed by it, but about halfway through, I was like, 'Is this actually one of the raddest things I've ever seen??' I had a blast.

Tron: Ares is what IMAX was made for! This film was a visual and auditory wonder that satisfied the senses. Every moment was a delight from start to finish. The stunning visuals and the immersion sound design came together perfectly along with the story to create an enjoyable cinematic experience!

The AI characters in the movie either have a complete disregard for human life or decide to turn towards humanity because that is is better. Neither of those make me think that the movie was going for a purely pro-AI angle.

The joke back then was that Ultron saw the Internet for 5 seconds before deciding that all of humanity should die. Ares is like the antithesis of that. He saw a single human life and said, "Yeah, fuck this shit, I'm out. I want some of that. They got Depeche Mode over there." #TronAres #spoilers

Saw someone doing a "Um, computers dont work that way, and therefore the premise of Tron Ares makes no sense" and honey I dont know how to explain that the Tron franchise is entirely vibes based logic, and if you arent on board for cool visuals and rad sounds, then its not a film series for you.

Just got out of TRON Ares. It starts at 11 and goes hard from there. Different vibe from legacy but lots of great action and cool visuals. NiN was a great soundtrack for a 2 hour action movie. I really enjoyed it! Definitely worth seeing if ya like TRON.

I’ll admit it. I enjoyed Tron: Ares. I’ve only ever been interested in the franchise for the visuals and music, and that’s what they leaned into. If the characters spoke Japanese and were subtitled, it would have been live action Anime.
