The only possible conclusion here is that these people didn’t really want what they knew they were voting for. Which raises questions fit for a therapist.

I think one secret to Zohran Mamdani’s whole deal is that he doesn’t seem to hate his city or have contempt for the people who live there. This could be studied and perhaps employed elsewhere.

RAMPAGE (original cut): A Friedkin I had never seen before! A serious, stylistically subdued procedural about the death penalty and the insanity defense. There’s some deck-stacking (the psychiatric profession really comes in for a shellacking) but this is strong stuff, disturbing and conflicted.
