/5 Now the Jewish population of Norway is approx. 1,400 to 1,500 people, with most living in Oslo & Trondheim. Approx. 870 members belong to the country's two official Jewish communities in Oslo & Trondheim, ethnically diverse & vary in its degree of religiosity and connection to Jewish tradition.

/4 Before 1940 Jewish population in Norway was
approximately 2,100 people, growing in the late 1930s due to refugees from Central Europe. Most Jews lived in Oslo. Smaller community in Trondheim. The population was devastated during WW II after Norway was occupied by Nazi Germany in April 1940.

/3 Norway banned Jewish people until the 1850's. A ban prohibiting Jews from entering Norway, stemming from a 1687 decree, was in effect until 1851. The ban persisted after the 1814 constitution was created, which also reinforced the exclusion of Jews.

/2 with German SS and police units. The process involved the registration of Jews, confiscation of their property, mass arrests, & transportation to death camps, primarily Auschwitz. And now we have hate against Jews permeating many parts of Europe. Norway's history towards Jews explains hostility

Norway to Auschwitz. I was surprised. So, I looked a bit and found that at least 775 people of Jewish background in Norway were arrested, detained, and deported through a systematic, multi-stage process carried out by the
collaborationist Norwegian police and government officials in cooperation /1

True given all of the horrendous policies of his administration. But, I'm beyond glad that these hostages got released from their barbaric captivity.

Does anyone else think it's strange that no major US, GB, or EU media have published the fact that 26 hostages freed from Gaza visited the WH & Trump in the oval office today and there are no news articles about what was said - if I'm wrong about that please let me know.
