💫Here's to the next chapter in my journey: I'm thrilled to announce I'm now represented by Kathleen Rushall at @andreabrownlit.bsky.social! 📖
Congratulations on your book! This looks like a great title (and series) for my STEAM classroom.
Ugh. The ruling also denies the professional expertise of teachers and the value of an inclusive classroom.

Good morning! @gelliottmorris.com and I have crossed 2.5 million #nokings protesters counted.

Our nationwide, unofficial, crowdsourced estimate is now at 4.7-7.9 million.

Thank you to all of our local colleagues and volunteers that made this work possible.

Good evening. We estimate that between 4.2 and 7.6 million people turned out for the No Kings Day demonstrations held around the country on Saturday. This makes Oct 18 very likely the biggest single-day U.S. protest event since 1970. www.gelliottmorris.com/p/second-no-...

I was commissioned to make a zine for the No Kings 2 protest on Saturday Oct 18th!

If you wonder “what can I do?” this zine is for you. It’s packed with things that you can do from wearing a “no ICE” pin to organizing a visibility brigade with your friends.

The reality of Kavanaugh stops: American citizens dragged, tackled, beaten, tased, and shot by immigration agents. Citizens held in the rain while in their underwear. A pregnant citizen's door blown off while Kristi Noem watched. Important story by @nicolefoy.bsky.social of @propublica.org

Next Saturday Oct 18, millions of people across America will join together to send a clear message: We the people have the power. Find your local event today and raise your voice for the science, facts, and truth we need to counter the authoritarian overreach of President Trump and his enablers.
No Kings
As the president escalates his authoritarian power grab, the NO KINGS non-violent movement continues to rise stronger. We are united once again to remind the world: America has No Kings and the power belongs to the people.

I at least enjoy finding comps, since I like to think of my writing as in conversation with/inspired by books I admire. Pitches stress me because I feel so much pressure to be catchy! Which is not my style. I'm super grateful to my critique partners for their pitch editing! #KidLitChat
Now including New Mexico.

Wow! I would love to see them in action. So far each time I’ve observed it resting in its web.
This huge gorgeous yellow garden spider (Argiope aurantia) has been hanging out in my school garden for a few weeks.

Yes! I'm trying to think what show it might have been on... maybe Reading Rainbow? (did they do book videos?) or 3-2-1 Contact or some other 80s PBS show. #KidLitChat
I remember watching the video of Chicken Soup with Rice on... PBS maybe? back in the day? And still remember the tune to the song! #KidLitChat
I also loved Frog and Toad and all Lobel's books! I've also loved teaching with them, they are as thoughtful and fresh as ever and still make me laugh out loud! #KidLitChat
And p.s. I'm writing picture books in verse about nature and animals so... still on brand! #KidLitChat
Oh that reminds me of another classic bunny book for toddlers: Pat the Bunny! I loved it and also loved reading it with my little brother. #KidLitChat
Same! Loved all of Marguerite Henry, and even got to visit Chincoteague and feed the ponies as a child 😍
I loved The Little House by Virginia Lee Burton and still feel heartbroken every time I read it! I also loved nursery rhyme and poetry collections. Also Roald Dahl, Laura Ingalls Wilder, Madeleine L’Engle. Plus any and all animal books! #KidLitChat
I would encourage myself to notice what I’m passionate about writing, what brings me joy and sparks my creativity, and worry less about what I “should” be writing. #kidlitchat
