“Hello, Childe.” Zhongli stands in the doorway, his hair tucked into a loose bun with two golden hairpins and his shirt untucked, the top two buttons undone and the sleeves haphazardly rolled to expose his forearms. “Apologies for my tardy appearance. I wasn’t expecting company. Please come in.”

“Hey, Zhongli, and no need to apologise,” says Childe, stepping inside and removing his boots.

No need at all. As elegant as Zhongli’s usual attire is, Childe has never so much as been able to slip a glance at a single wrist, let alone an entire forearm. Yet now they’re both revealed to him, muscled and slender and how good they’d look gripping a weapon, the muscle flexing as slender fingers curl around the hilt.

No, he can’t think like this. This sort of thinking is exactly what he’s trying to avoid through this visit today.
