These people have no fear of death, but I also learned that Final Destination 6 is correct about MRIs. While I knew MRIs could kill people, I always thought the metal went to the outside and that it was totally unrealistic for metal to be pulled inside.

when you're excited to find out your house is haunted because you're hoping you can charge them rent 😂

I definitely scare my family! My Mommom once asked me if I can ever write anything happy 😂 I’m not sure if I’ve scared anyone else since people don’t leave reviews (I am begging!), but I know I have intrigued a few people with my twist endings and symbolism (they told me so).

#HorrorWritersChat Q3.

Who do you scare? As a writer, it's our chance to bite back, perhaps.
Q3
Do you write horror that scares the poor, the wealthy or everyone equally?

I have a lot of respect for French healthcare! I've never lived long-term anywhere with fully private healthcare, and have never lived in France, but on stats France always seems to perform well...better than my homeland which likes to push the definition of what counts as "public health"

#HorrorWritersChat I’ll take it to my grave!

Ok I’ll bite. Growing up ace, I *used* to feel some moral superiority at “not judging by appearances” or not feeling any reason to date/have sex. How hard could it be to “save until marriage”?

Turns out I was “saving” a currency that I would never use.

the ace experience when you're like "saving myself until marriage will be easy" and then they're like "but once you get married you'll be expected to have sex and have kids" and you're like "do I have to though?"

And the double meaning works regardless of whether or not you're aro!

I write gothic, paranormal, & historical horror alls inspired by my Choctaw-Irish heritage.

How poor am I? I spent my last two paychecks on my sick cat, got my electric turned off, & then found $20 only to discover two front tires ripped to shreds. Payday is next week. 😂🫠

A lot of the stories I write reflect the growing scarcity of nature and how that exacerbates existing inequalities. I like to explore how it erodes not just the beauty of our world, but compassion, and our sense of obligation to one another.

#HorrorWritersChat The house is haunted? Too bad because this was in my financial range. Just sprinkle some salt in front of your bedroom door and don't mind the ghost crawling on the ceiling.

I always used to wonder why people in horror movies would risk their lives to buy the cheap but clearly haunted house and now, you know what, I get it.

Scarcity is the air my characters breathe. Deprivation isn’t just material—it’s emotional, spiritual. In my worlds, folks pass down their lack like an heirloom.

I think what makes the supernature interesting is how it taps into our real fears, anxieties, doubts, regrets, and shames. There's an almost fairy-tale quality to supernatural horror where the monsters are often manifestations of the stuff that truly scares us most.

Do hang around for the outro, in around 10 minutes.

Which is the easier route? Or the more satisfying?

Hi I'm HD Beird, condemned to live

Current research says HD stands for "Hoo Diss"

If I knew, I wouldn't be researching!

What I write I classify as horror because it fits the weird, but there's scifi, fantasy and smut too

I work payday to payday, so to then do my characters!

Hæ, halló, veriði velkomin #HorrorWritersChat

I'm Villimey, an indie horror author from Iceland. I write all kinds of horror, though my series revolves around vampires.

Oof, such a loaded question. I'd say I'm allright financially but morally? Being a petty bitch who loves revenge, 50/50?

Oh right then here we go, if it glitches I'll wait till it's back up then fire the next.
Can't say fairer than that. Hi #HorrorWritersChat, let's talk riches. Or poverty. Moral or cash, I don't mind which.
Horror is one of the more egalitarian genres I think. More room for poor...

No links please.
Question One
Assemble, horror bods!
Tell me what kind of horror you write, and how poor are you - financially or morally? You choose....

Hi, I'm Beverley, a dark fiction writer from the UK specialising in atmosphere and the build-up of dread.
I'm not rich by any means but have enough to get by. Morally, it depends on the question! #HorrorWritersChat

I hope to scare everyone, but if I only manage to terrify the rich into giving me their money, I would be okay with that.
