All of this to say what counts as the start of a slasher and what counts as a slasher would be a really great video because it's a really complicated history...it could be Halloween, it could be Black Christmas, it could be Psycho, or it could even be something like 1931's M, its a crazy history!

the start of the slasher is somewhat complicated, and also somewhat culturally dependent. For example, as a Canadian, I would say the Slasher started with 1974's Black Christmas, which predated Halloween by 4 years and kicked off a stream of Canadian slashers like My Bloody Valentine and Prom Night

yeah, I don't mind the later movies but like...the anthology series would have been *really* cool and I don't think the Michael Myers films ever topped how disturbing 3 gets despite it's campy side.

Upsides of being bipedal: we have incredible endurance, can go almost anywhere, and we can use weapons - we are basically the slasher villains of the animal kingdom.

Downsides of being bipedal: our knees, backs, hips, and feet suck.

seriously. horror fans are as nitpicky as they are loyal to the genre. whenever AI is found in a horror movie, they notice. and by they I mean we.

"The consumers won't care if it's AI."

Ah yes, horror fans -- y'know, the people who famously ask "Are the FX Practical?!" about literally every movie -- definitely won't care that you're feeding them prompt-generated slop. Good call there.
