In country after country, far-right populists offer easy solutions to often non-existent crises, fuelling xenophobia, jealousy, rage for votes. Once in power, they (ab)use their position, serve themselves, & keep people angry while solving nothing. Those who have not yet realised this don't want to.

Bonkers. We were in town today and sat outside for a sandwich and coffee.

The cats we had when I grew up woukd have never tolerated them. But my friend said his 10+2 don't mind. I rely on this. They're very good and protective of their cats. They wouldn't force them.

😁

My friends have a cat café and asked could I make them for Halloween? It's astonishing what you can find on the Internet these days. YouTube had a video with a pattern.

Oh, you do that, too?! 🫶

The hats have arrived. From the other side of the big pond, a first photo. I hope the other cats have bigger heads! 😁😉 #caturday

It's not really, Andrew. In the meantime, there are quite a few pieces from fact-checkers and Latin American politics experts that document her proximity to and cooperation with far-right groups and her long-standing genuine like of Trump. She's not being clever, she's being genuine, I'm afraid.

Both the pandemic as well as this right-wing wave have been teaching us lessons about our fellow humans that I for one could have done without. In the end, it seems we're more instinct-led than we like to believe. We're not rational despite our comparatively sizeable brains.

It is astonishing how both in the US and UK leading cheerleaders for far-right thinking have a biography that is entirely at odds with their views. Thiessen's "mother grew up in Poland and fought as a teenager in the Warsaw Uprising, a military struggle in which his grandfather died." (Wikipedia)

A Matt cartoon - always brilliant.
Two bishops speaking. One says:
"We have the first female Archbishop of Canterbury. I must ask God what She thinks of that"

"The only positive thing to come out of this is that community, neighbours, friends are coming out of the woodwork for each other...people are springing into action in a matter of seconds & go to a school to peacefully walk children home & protect parents...it has brought us together" #Chicago

It's puzzling, isn't it? 😉

[As per memo, the cop out is this: "In preparation for upcoming international travel"]

My boss: so how's our fourth quarter looking?

Me, the sales manager at the company that makes inflatable frog suits: well, you're never going to believe this, but
