After I fought Karmelita, I literally couldn’t believe that I was able to progress any further, but I did! (also, the final boss was easier than her 💀)

And I finished Passing of the Age quest too 🍄🎉

Ok, I kinda cheesed the Coral Tower and Khan (which now I regret doing), but, even if I didn’t, Khan would be unfairly EASY compared to the rest of the tower. I literally felt like when I fought Grand Mother Silk right after defeating Lace. That was relaxing

He said that bitter almonds smell like chlorinated water, but people may assume that they smell like regular almonds. That makes SO MUCH more sense than two that different chemicals smell the same

Like, everything that contains cyanide and smells like almonds also contains benzaldehyde. What a fucking coincidence?

I have spent several hours looking for the answers and I'm constantly circling back to the question "how do we know that it's the smell of cyanide and not benzaldehyde?"

Is the whole world trying to gaslight me to believe that cyanide smells like almonds?

I once read somewhere that it’s a myth that came from the fact that bitter almonds contain cyanide, but the actual scent comes from two other compounds that are present in almonds, but I can't find the proof now

And and to make it worse, they both can be signs of amygdalin breaking down. Amigdalin itself also smells like almonds and is the source of cyanide in almonds and other seeds infamous for containing it. I made a full circle 🥴🥴🥴

For a moment I hoped that it's the answer that I was looking for, but apparently millipedes that produce cyanide also produce benzaldehyde which too smells like almonds

Have you ever actually smelled them?

Because I always thought that it's just a myth that cyanide smells like almost, but everyone is so sure of it, and I can't find a definitive answer, and I'm slowly losing my mind because of it

I found two compounds that smell like almonds and are present in them, benzaldehyde and amygdalin, the latter of which brakes down into cyanide and it’s other compounds

Is this the answer??? Is this why everyone believes that cyanide smells like almonds???????
