Poor old Trump. No Nobel Prize. Some days he solved 6 wars, other days it was 9 wars, today its 7 wars. And like magic he can end wars between countries that aren’t at war, or that don’t exist, or that are still at war. All without leaving the golf course or the gold plated WH rooms.

Another neighbour writes

“I read these to our children after a book starved upbringing and we all love them. So sorry I can't get to this as truly love these tales.”

Have walked dogs in Western Park since 1988, during lockdown more folk discovered the park and the various parts got named, to let folk know where you were. Some woodland is Narnia, there’s a Stone Table. The White Tower and The Dark Tower, Grassmere, the Field of Dreams, Burnt Oak, and so on.
Bare branched trees in snow - aka Narnia Expose rocks on rough gras with young trees.
Aka the Stone Table

This book changed our family traditions at Christmas. We originally had stockings on our bed which we opened with our parents in their bedroom. One year I had read 3/4 of TLTWATW before they had even woken up,so next year we had to leave them downstairs by the fire. I bought them with pocket money

I cited TLRWTW in a panel for the King's Lynn Literature Festival a few weeks ago as a classic example of wartime evacuation literature: the children travelling by train alone, the rural grumpy host, the glorying in wonderful food, having to get out of other people's way, and the fascist backdrop.

Shared your post to the neighbours
Thanks for sharing this Tim, I wasn't brought up with these books but my husband was and passed the love onto my children and I think my little granddaughter is starting to hear the stories

Took grandson No2 as a treat with Granma. We had a pre show dinner at #ChutneyIvy. The maitre’d asked Noah what was happening. He said “we’re going to see TLTWATW”. Oh said the man, “that’s my favourite book, it was the first book my teacher read to me when I arrived from Uganda as a 7 year old.”

Ooh sir, me sir, I do
Read it as a child, read it to our children, and grandchildren. Took family to RSC Christmas show. Despite being raised Methodist I was a teenager before someone said you do know it’s an allegory, aslan = Jesus etc. Still love the book. A few years ago The Curve staged it.

I'm on a panel talking about The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe at Leicester Cathedral next week, to mark the 75th anniversary of publication. Anyone doing anything to mark this? Anyone got any comments on the impact the book had on them? (Tickets from Leicester Cathedral if you're interested)

There is no systemic free speech problem in Britain that needs fixing. There are some tricky fine lines between free speech and incitement – a balancing of rights – as has been the case for a *very* long time and was the case here. Nothing more.

This is written like it was just fortuitous that this particular judge was assigned to the Coskun case co-sponsored by Toby's FSU.... Like the judgment was solely at the judge's discretion.

No, the judgment was rooted in English Law with a heavy nod to the ECHR.

Strange, Toby doesn't mention ECHR
