Hat. Blazer. Belt. My modest homage to Diane Keaton today. She can ne-ver be imitated. You can only hope to honor her spirit. ♥️

One of my favorite underrated Keaton performances, MANHATTAN MURDER MYSTERY

There are so many Diane Keaton performances to remember, but a lot of people haven't seen Reds, and A) my God, see it, it is a masterpiece and B) her performance as Louise Bryant is one of the bravest, toughest, least sympathy-courting pieces of work by an American actress in the last 50 years.

Take 2025, put it in the trash. Rest in peace, the great, one-of-a-kind, the one and only, Diane Keaton. ♥️🙏🏼

I guarantee, if men had to go through something a fraction as painful as the mammogram, medicine would have invented something 100% pain-free and comfortable by now.

Trump basically put a bunch of racist and misogynist thugs (who NO DOUBT beat their wives/girlfriends/kids) in charge with weapons. F*ck ICE.

CHICAGO: Trump's lawless goons (ICE) make a U-turn and smash into a woman's car, then proceed to arrest her by dragging her out of the vehicle.

Just love that Bradley Cooper went from the studiously excellent MAESTRO, to the loose-limbed & casually enchanting IS THIS THING ON?. A filmmaker who can operate in every mold, he’s the real deal. Lovely chemistry between Will Arnett & Laura Dern, a very New York #NYFF closing.

To whom it may concern:
If your budget is $25 (+ a modest meal) for a project that will take hours of prep, + few of hours of in-person presence w/ a local commute, you should not advertise it as a job on LinkedIn. That is more or less volunteering. Or a hobby. It’s not a job.

On most days, I complain about a freelancer’s life. But on rare days, freelancing is a sigh of relief, knowing (for instance) that no power in the world can make you suffer through that new Tron: Something movie.

(PSA: Joachim Rønning’s Young Woman & The Sea is awesome though.)

NYFF tickets are expensive. So why on earth would you spend all that money just to come to the theater & scroll text messages and Instagram? I genuinely don’t get it. This might come as a shock, but YOU CAN DO THAT AT HOME, FOR FREE. Without being an asshole to the rest of us.

What you should do is go to the Jafar Panahi & Martin Scorsese talk tomorrow at NYFF. And after that, come to my talk on Tuesday, 10/14 after a screening of the masterful IT WAS JUST AN ACCIDENT. Looks sold-out now, but keep an eye — sometimes tix become available. I’m beyond honored to do this.

Yes. Also in Spy, Juliet Naked, Meddler, Insidious 2, Neighbors, Get Him to the Greek etc. No room to count all her credits in both great projects, and in not-so-great ones that she immediately lifts up just by being in them.

In this house, we’ve always been big Rose Bryne fans, knowing she had the toughest part in BRIDESMAIDS (& she makes it look easy) & can turn even the most ordinary line into gold in every role that she plays. Hopefully, Mary Bronstein’s IF I HAD LEGS I’D KICK YOU, one of my Sundance favorites >>>

When was the last time Trump was interviewed solo on-camera by a non-servile journalist? Because it's starting to feel like that may not happen again. The risk of him being publicly challenged about factual basic information--like, "Portland is not burning"--is too great for his handlers to permit.

Looks gross. Eww.
And Amazon paid $40 million for it, to suck up to the fascists that are governing us.
I hope it tanks. I hope it fails comically and miserably.

I don't know who antifa is or how to find them, so I suspect they're the same people who knew when R.E.M. was doing their secret shows at the 40 Watt and never let me in on it.

A lead actress calling herself a lead actress is the real deal. More of this.

One of the great things about ONE BATTLE AFTER ANOTHER is how every character, regardless of screen time, is written with such depth and richness. To me, this aspect of the film isn’t even debatable. A masterful script.
