On Twitter I made a thread where I watched and commented upon every episode of #DoctorWho.

Over the years I've bought a surprising amount of #BigFinish audio stories and can't keep track of them. So I'm going back to the start and listening to them. I apologise in advance

I’m glad you’ve finally realised; I hope you’re out and enjoying it. I’ve had a few gay men in my life ask me if I knew was and I can assuredly say I’m definitely straight, gaydar isn’t 100% accurate

This is another form of censorship and book banning to my mind: you force an ersatz simplification on young readers while making the original harder & harder to obtain, then tell them the ersatz is better than the real thing (bc it is programmed propaganda pablum).

No, resurrecting the corpse of Anne Frank so 12-year-olds can gossip with her is not how you “make history come alive.” It’s how you destroy history so that someone can come in, rewrite it, and then author a future to their liking.

To an extent I see your point. But I do tend to be tapped into things going on, especially if they’re big. Like I won’t know who’s playing The O2 most nights or Wembley Stadium - but when Coldplay have five nights at Wembley, people will talk about it. If it’s big, it cuts through

Oct 12th - Rebecca de Winter, the first wife of Maxim de Winter, died

📽️📅 Rebecca (1940)
2 Screenshots from the movie "Rebecca" (1940): First, a dimly lit room with a fireplace and a desk cluttered with papers. Three men are engaged in a discussion, with the subtitle: "concerning the late Mrs. de Winter's activities on the day of her death." Second, the same room and people, the man in the center looking thoughtful, with the subtitle: "October the 12th, last year."

I remember when, even though I had no interest in it, I‘d hear about the NFL games being played in London. This is the second thing I’ve seen this year, the first being another tweet that they’ve become background noise

I don’t imagine you’re alone, but I wonder has Jennie Eclair ever released a covers record?
An LP sleeve with Su Pollard and the word SU in huge letters The track listing of Su Pollard’s record, containing a variety of standards and lesser known tracks

Because yeah, fuck that job. Constantly telling people to move down because they can’t be arsed to look for an empty slot themselves while dealing with all the continuous minor tech errors

There’s a woman who staffs about 15 of them at my nearest Morrisons (and most are card only/cash only so it’s a nightmare) and she always has the most upbeat attitude. I sort of want to tell her how great it is that she’s always so polite but I’ve no idea how to not sound patronising

My issue is that Sainsbury's and other supermarkets have exploited huge profits by sacking low-wage workers at check outs which has led to a huge increase in theft. They created the issue and by doing so made it a worse experience for the customer. Now they continue to make it even worse

Didn't The Who just complete their final tour? Plenty of time on his hands, now

Everyone's going to show up dressed as an inflatable animal to do the Cha-Cha Slide, right? That's the plan?

Sen. Roger Marshall: "October 18 is when the protest gets here. This will be a Soros paid-for protest for his professional protesters. The agitators show up. We'll have to get the National Guard out. Hopefully it will be peaceful. I doubt it."

Judge Jeannette Vargas said the lyrics in Lamar’s Not Like Us, which refers to Drake as a “certified paedophile”, were a matter of opinion, which could not be “actionable defamation”.
