I write in @RStatecraft that an overlooked aspect of why Trump decided to push for a Gaza deal is that Israel was increasingly becoming a political burden. Israel’s standing has been tanking among America Firsters.

Told @BeckyCNN that it would be a disaster if Trump lets Israel reduce his deal to just a ceasefire and not the end of the war that he has touted it as.

Netanyahu made sure the previous deal never reached Phase II, will Trump allow him to do so again?
