Oh and if CBP tear-gasses someone that isn't an act of force or violence, but if the victim kicks the canister away then that is "assaultive" to the officer (and therefore justifies arrest or more-violent response). bsky.app/profile/jons...

So in one courtroom the DOJ is arguing that a sandwich thrown into an armor-wearing officer is a forcible assault while simultaneously in another courtroom DOJ says tackling protestors or shooting them in the head with less lethal munitions does not count as use of force. One rule for thee...

The key fact about today's "conservatives" is they ALWAYS put sides over principles. Appallingly, with people like Judge Cannon or AG Bondi this extends even to the principles of law. Its one rule for me, and another for thee.

Plaintiffs in the Chicago Headlines Club lawsuit claim that DHS is outright refusing to provide drone and BWC footage from a recent attack on peaceful protestors.

1. Plaintiffs filed a motion for expedited discovery to compel Defendants to produce
all video footage responsive to Plaintiffs’ requests for production Nos. 2 & 5 as ordered by the
Court for the incident October 23, 2025 in Little Village, Chicago, where Defendant Bovino
himself deployed tear gas munitions into a crowd. Dkt. 152.
2. As Plaintiffs motion pointed out, Defendants have posted video montages of this
incident to social media. Id. ¶¶3-4. Plaintiffs pointed out that Defendants social media included
what appears to be body worn camera footage “as well as drone footage” from the October 23rd
incident in Little Village. Id. The two cited DHS social media videos a relevant to this suit. One
Calls the events in Little Village a “riot,” id. n.2, while another purports to depict a rock being
thrown at Bovino, id. n.1.
3. The court granted the motion, and required Defendants to produce “both BWC
and drone footage” from the “use of force incidents on 10/30/2025 in the Little Village
neighborhood” by 9pm on October 29, 2025. Dkt. 159.
4. Defendants refuse to comply with this Court’s unequivocal order. Specifically,
Defendants have simply refused to produce drone footage from Little Village, despite the Court
ordering its production and despite the fact that the Defendants have used it in their social media
to support their contentions that the violence in Little Village (and throughout this District) is
justified.

Trump fired yet another inspector general (IG), the FHFA’s Acting IG, Joe Allen, after Allen apparently gave exculpatory information to the DoJ lawyers prosecuting NY AG Letitia James, as required by the constitution & basic fairness.

Lindsey Halligan, the interim U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia who was hand-picked for the job by Trump, subsequently indicted James after her predecessor declined to do so, citing a lack of evidence.
Allen received notice of his termination from the White House after he made efforts to provide key information to prosecutors in that office, according to four sources. The information he turned over was constitutionally required, two of them said, while a third described it as being potentially relevant in discovery.

The USDA sent an email to grocery stores telling them they are prohibited from offering special discounts to customers affected by the SNAP funding lapse.
I'm aware of at least 2 stores that had offered struggling customers a discount, then withdrew it after receiving this email

The sworn affidavit submitted in support of the Criminal Complaint in this matter tells a
very different—and largely fictional—story. For example, Special Agent Steven Fuentes of ICE,
HSI, and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) swore to the following:
On June 20, 2025, [HSI, ICE-ERO, and TxDPS] were conducting
surveillance at a residence on Benrus, in San Antonio, Texas, in the Western
District of Texas. Database checks indicated that Jaime Albert
QUINTANILLA-Chavez, with a Final Order of Removal from an
Immigration Judge, was residing at the above address. At approximately
0715 a.m., QUINTANILLA exited the residence and entered a white Dodge
Ram. The Dodge Ram was towing a trailer containing construction
equipment. Both license plates for the truck and trailer were expired.
ECF No. 1 ¶ 2 (emphasis added). Fuentes also swore that (1) the Defendant refused to “follow any
commands”; (2) after the Defendant was blocked in between the officers’ vehicles, he was given
“multiple verbal commands to exit the vehicle”; and (3) the Defendant “fought the law
enforcement officers.” Id. ¶¶ 3–4. Fuentes further testified at the preliminary hearing that the
Defendant was surveilled (and taken into custody) because he was subject to a Final Order of
Removal from an Immigration Judge. See ECF No. 12, 6/26 Preliminary Hr’g Tr. at 4:20–25.
Despite HSI’s sworn statement to the Magistrate Judge that the vehicle was stopped
because of expired license plates, the Assistant U.S. Attorney conceded at a bond hearing in July
2025 that Fuentes had “misrepresented what was going on.” ECF No. 29, 7/10 Hr’g Tr. at 8:12–

The Defendant pulled over, came to a stop, and took out his cell phone to call a friend to come
pick up the only other occupant of his vehicle: his weenie dog, Rocky. ECF No. 29, 7/10 Hr’g Tr.
at 29:9–18. The Defendant’s friend saw from his video messaging application that there were men
aiming guns at the Defendant and yelling at him. See id. at 25:17–21.

The most fundamental key to understanding today's "conservatives" is they ALWAYS consider sides over principles. Not 'cancelling our own people' is explicitly saying the side (our own people) is more important than the principle (the noxious things he might be 'cancelled' over).

Another illegal US maritime strike—again in the Pacific.

Against a vessel allegedly operated by an unspecified "designated terrorist organization."

Four reported fatalities—dubbed w/o ID or evidence "narco-terrorists."

There's a word for premeditated killings outside of armed conflict.

Earlier today, at the direction of President Trump, the Department of War carried out a lethal kinetic strike on yet another narco-trafficking vessel operated by a Designated Terrorist Organization (DTO) in the Eastern Pacific.

This vessel, like all the others, was known by our intelligence to be involved in illicit narcotics smuggling, was transiting along a known narco-trafficking route, and carrying narcotics. Four male narco-terrorists were aboard the vessel—and killed—during the strike, which was conducted in international waters. No U.S. forces were harmed in this strike.

The Western Hemisphere is no longer a safe haven for narco-terrorists bringing drugs to our shores to poison Americans. The Department of War will continue to hunt them down and eliminate them wherever they operate.
