And IIRC, that gerrymandering was predicated upon the Hispanic vote remaining the same as it was in 2024. The preliminary numbers in the heavily Hispanic precincts in Fort Worth showed a 50 point shift toward Democrats over what Harris did. bsky.app/profile/pier...

This really makes no sense. If Trump wants the money to be put to best use, then he needs to direct appropriations policy and leave it in the US Treasury where it'll benefit the People.

But of course, he wants to give it "charities" that he and his circle have a stake in.
Trump claims “nobody will care” that he’s trying to steal billions from taxpayers because he’ll give it to charity 🤥 (he won’t)

If Obama even dreamed this Republicans would’ve lost their damn minds

Dems, it's okay to talk about this. People will listen. They will hear.

They'll hear if you *don't* talk about it as well. A very *different* message.
This is corruption on a breathtaking level. Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan, an Abu Dhabi royal nicknamed the "spy sheikh", pumped $187mn into Trump family businesses. A WSJ team has the whole story, reported here for the first time. Remember: Jimmy Carter had to sell his peanut farm.

There’s a moment in "The Patriot" when defeat seems certain and the main character grabs a fallen flag and charges the enemy, turning the battle. It’s pure movie fiction, combat doesn't work like that. But it captures something real: the spirit of resolve and belief in something larger than oneself.
See, I wouldn't follow you into an open bar.

I'd follow this guy into a field of CS gas. This means something. This is what the fight is for.

Menefee promised to fight for universal health insurance, seek to impeach Homeland Security Sec Kristi Noem over U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement operations and “tear ICE up from the roots.”

NO WONDER HE WON

I've seen videos of the indiscriminate use of tear gas on a large crowd that was clearly peaceful and filled with Portlanders of all ages, and well off the macadam facility. We banned tear gas for a reason. I join Councilor Green in calling for enforcement of our laws.
I just got tear gassed along with thousands of union members, many of whom had their families with them. Federal agents at the ICE facility tear gassed children. We must abolish ICE, DHS, and we must have prosecutions. I expect to see enforcement of our city code prohibiting the use of tear gas.

Watch the video as a recklessly driven cheap car careens around and a gang of armed thugs spring out to menace an innocent civilian, like a kidnapping or robbery or murder-for-hire.

It looks like organized crime taking place in a third-world country, because it is.

It's a nice story. But let's not overlook that the husband of the arrested woman:
- had an attorney on call
- knew the police chief personally
- and the police have since denied doing anything at all

So let's keep the actual usefulness of the police in perspective here.
