As a stockman/Rancher & Farmer, you are absolutely accurate in describing the core issue. Input Costs directly impact output costs to the value chain, ending up at the consumer. Buying more water, buying more feed ultimately compresses the value chain, raising prices for consumers.

He could execute half the country in gas chambers and then sellers would be competing for fewer buyers and that would drive prices down. /s
Scott Bessent on the administration's affordability plan: "We'll see. He's the president of solutions, and I'm sure that we will have a solution to this."

(Note the complete lack of pushback to this by Rebecca Quick and contrast with her recent attempted ambush of Hakeem Jeffries)

This has more to do with climate change. Mostly drought. Ranchers have had to reduce their herds and it is going to take a long time to rebuild those herds, "if" the climate could support that many cow/calf pairs, which right now... it can't.

My neighbor just bought a new Mac Pro. It was something crazy like $12K from Apple and it's pretty damn amazing. But aesthetically... it's the ugliest case I've ever seen in my life. It's like putting a Lamborghini motor in a Pinto.

Beef processing capacity nationwide is reducing 7-9% due to Tyson closing one plant entirely in Nebraska and shutting down an entire shift in Amarillo, TX. Prices going up.
Tyson's beef plant closure in Nebraska will impact a reliant town and ranchers nationwide
Tyson Foods’ decision to close a beef plant in Lexington, Nebraska, could devastate the small city and undermine the profits of ranchers nationwide.

It took several years to put Mitchell in prison after the crime. But at the end of the day, he fought the law and the law won.

Hegseth is cutting the military's ties with Scouting America. It cheapens a century-long partnership. Instead of supporting their push for broader inclusion, he frames it as an “attack”, turning progress into a political grievance. His stance shrinks both institutions rather than strengthening them.

Dearest Pam,

Just a friendly reminder that John Mitchell spent 19 months of his life in prison.

If we can ever get majorities in the House and Senates made up of people who have signed a pledge to reject PAC/corporate money -- we might be able to overturn Citizens United.

Regular Democratic voters should organize through their local offices to form something like a "New Democratic Congress"; made up of regular voters with the goal of creating and adopting a pledge that anyone running for office has to sign that states they'll reject PAC/Corporate money, etc...

Google has peaked?
Google at its peak was basically the best information retrieval system in human history and they and every competitor decided going from there to “you didn’t want answers you wanted half-assed auto-complete 80%-wrong hallucinations” in a few years was the right idea

The ROC's early history, along with Sun Yat-sen's is fascinating. Born in China, he was primarily educated in the Republic of Hawaii. He became a Christian. He was baptized in British Hong Kong and then... he overthrew the Qing Dynasty. And today what became of his new government exists in Taiwan.

It's time for "Fun with Flags!"

Sun Yat-sen founded Revive China Society in Hawaii in 1894 while in exile. It became the nucleus of the Chinese revolutionary movement. In 1895, Society adopted “blue sky with a white sun” design. Red added in 1906, adopted as flag of the Republic of China in 1928.

Woody really would be a great bartender. Just keep the drinks coming and let's talk about that sonofabitch.
I want to apologize to the rest of the world, because electing this guy didn’t just harm us, it sent shockwaves through global democracy.

Thanks to this incompetent government, we’ve managed to export our chaos far beyond our own borders.

I think maybe it's possible to say this without saying "it honors our country."

However, if I put my feet on your chair, you should feel honored!

This is kind of a big deal inside meteorology circles... this was an "out of season" tornado, that happened at a time when people are focused on turkeys and not supercells... it hit a heavily populated area. And there were no injuries.

That my friends, is good government-public cooperation!

A governor deploying their own guard into their own state (like Kent State) is different. But as far as these federal deployments, the courts have agreed that if civil authority has control of whatever the situation is, then federal troop deployments are a violation of Constitution and statutes.
