That is a motivation being ascribed to the actions being taken, which I do not entirely concur with. I see a fascist dictator doing evil shit they was always part of the plan, and I do not see distractions.

The distractions I see are liberals screeching “EPSTEIN!!!” on articles about fascism.
valhayden.me
And before you start whining about Mitch McConnell, where’s the Democrat obstructionist right now? Who’s standing in their way from the minority right now? Why are so many Democrats confirming Trump’s appointments and approving resolutions? Why can Reps obstruct from the minority and Dems can’t?
valhayden.me
Dems had a fucking supermajority and barely passed a Republican-gutted half-assed healthcare plan.

Dems do nothing even when they have all the power. Stop shielding them from valid criticism.

Votes are earned, not owed.

I’m just surprised anyone is convinced a full release would accomplish anything. His base don’t care, the MAGA GOP don’t care, and he already has the office. A full release implicating him won’t even lead to an impeachment, much less removal. This is such a wild goose chase.
valhayden.me
Complicit, not cowardly. They’re not afraid, they’ve got power and they’re happy to use it. Don’t blame cowardice - they know exactly what they’re doing.
valhayden.me
If they actually did something, they couldn’t continue to stoke liberal emotions and fundraise off the outrage. Performative action is what they’re best at; that and talking more than doing.
valhayden.me
Because Dems deserve to be bashed. They enable Republican fascism and do a lot more talking about stuff than doing it. The one thing they excel at is fundraising off of fear and those unbacked words.

Stop shielding them from valid criticism.

I mean, we literally have an ages-old axiom about this: “Actions speak louder than words”.

Democrats are usually pretty good about the words part. Absolute garbage on the actions.

Why are you trying to shield them from valid criticism? Why defend bad actors?
valhayden.me
Which basically outlines one of my biggest problems with VBNMW Blue MAGA shitlibs. They act like the Dem presidential candidates are these larger-than-life brilliant and magnanimous giants who we owe allegiance to simply for being there on the ballot.

Fuck. That.

I think one of the biggest cleavages in our society that no one talks about is the division between those that think powerful people must be held to a higher standard than non-powerful people and those who think powerful people should be flattered and sucked up to.

Politics and morality are intertwined.

REMINDER: For anyone confused, your political views are more than opinions. They're a reflection of your values, your empathy, and the way you see humanity.

Congrats to all the people who have postured as intelligent and morally righteous for years but decided that they couldn’t take a stand against genocide or decided to justify and cheer on the massacre of a people for whatever reason. Now they can go back to playing the intellectual in peace.
valhayden.me
Exactly. Hell, even fucking Reagan knew how to throw around some political power to jerk someone up short, if he felt like it. Biden wouldn’t do that.

I mean, we understand why, because he’s a raging Zionist who wanted the genocide, but still, point remains.

Definitely truer than “Hillary and Kamala were both overqualified to be president” and probably truer than “they only lost because misogyny and racism”.

Hear hear! Well said! Full thread hits the nail solidly on the head.

Dear liberals, it's time to admit some hard truths. Your party is even less popular than before. You're hemorrhaging votes and the only saving grace it seems is that you're standing next to an actual dictator. 🧵

I will settle for at least being able to intelligently define some terms like “tankie”, “communism”, “fascist”, “authoritarian”, and “electoral college”. Otherwise, YEET!
nerdjpg.com
Anyone saying the word tankie online in 2025 will be forced to relocate to a place currently collapsing due to climate change. Thank you for your attention to this matter

Yeah, I got sus when they claimed to be “to the left of Bernie” (which is how I often describe myself) and yet were coming down hard on the “harm reduction” Harris bandwagon. Like, every other lefty I talk to, even if they themselves voted for Kamala, don’t harangue people for not doing so.
valhayden.me
Yeah, I got tired of banging my head against that brick wall for 24 hours and just muted them. They openly admitted they don’t value morality and constantly harp on “outcomes”. I’m just done.
valhayden.me
Squares and rectangles.

Fascists by nature are authoritarian.

Not all authoritarians are fascists.

Glad to help clear up your misunderstanding. Now go do better.
valhayden.me
And here you equate “make moral choices” with “not doing anything” 🙄🤦🏻‍♀️ like talking to a brick wall.

A brick wall who admits they don’t value morality.

Go away.
valhayden.me
You don’t have to get “half the country” to do it - 2024 proved a candidate can win with less than 40% of registered voters. Try running a candidate on popular issues (universal health care, student loan forgiveness, minimum wage improvements, etc) who is also openly critical of the establishment.

As a visibly trans woman who got targeted by a MAGAt who tried to get me fired from my job after CK’s death, I’m not safe just because of where I live. Once MAGA decides to expand ICE to abducting trans folk, I’m fucked.
valhayden.me
That’s a vague enough question that I can’t really give you more than that I personally do not see exceptions to doing the moral thing. Accepting immorality immediately tarnishes the outcome.
valhayden.me
1. I did vote.
2. Harris won my state, so it doesn’t matter who I voted for. That’s how the electoral college works.

That’s not “leftist bs”, that’s reality. Rage at it if you must but it’s not my fault.
valhayden.me
My point is you don’t get to the end goal by galloping down a path that goes nearly the opposite direction. You start toward the goal by making better choices. Like not rubber-stamping genocide just because the perp belongs to the Correct Party™️
valhayden.me
Seriously, “unelectable o just means “I’m not willing to vote for them”. There’s no constitutional requirement for a candidate to be backed by a major party to be valid. Any “third party” candidate would win if enough people voted for them.
