If I'm using a gun in a fashion that is reasonable (hunting, pest control, personal protection, competition, historical collection, etc.) and safe then there is absolutely zero reason why that should be regulated. Behavior only need be regulated when dangerous.

There is no legal or moral basis for restricting rights so long as they are expressed safely, which the 2A may be

I told you why you might need to buy in bulk for economic reasons. And depending on what you're using you can easily go thru hundreds of rounds at the range in an afternoon, especially with lighter-shooting calibers like .22LR.

Soldiers carry loads of 210 rounds in the US Military MINIMUM per patrol. And that's just at once. Ammo is cheaper to buy in bulk, so it makes sense to buy it in bulk when it goes on sale and then use it over the course of time for training, competition, etc. Nobody is schlepping 2000 rounds around.

I don't think you know this, but the gun shown is a pistol. Besides, assault rifles are definitionally machine guns, which are severely limited and very expensive to own in the US.
