I just don't like to constantly talk or expose myself to politics, it's draining and not conducive to keeping my sanity. I fully understand the interest people have in politics, and I believe they're important to be discussed but within the spaces for it, not in random people's DMs

i live in a country where being queer is illegal, and drawing is my only outlet

it's not that I'm not interested in politics, it's that I'm not interested in US politics, because im not from the US. I'm happy when I see news of more queer and trans rights being pushed in any country though!

I disagree on queer art and being queer being inherently political, it is only political because of the (unfortunate) circumstances of shitty people in power. i hope to see the day where it's normalized, becoming just another fact of life and equal rights are just the norm

ive met people who found it "weird" even many many years ago, somehow not being into politics is a red flag to them. i dont get it. I understand politics are important, but shoving them onto people who just don't care (or aren't even in the same country) is a certified "bruh" from me

Scammers and bots yeah I get. The moment the DM starts with "can i ask you something" it's either a scam or a thirsty creep, which also been on the rise in my DMs

could be, i got to the 70th most engaged account on bsky for few days and was in the top 100 for a week, i def saw an uptick of weird DMs and comments during that

(also it is funny how everyone in the top 100 is some big figure or political person and then there's Spindle drawing hat on penis)
