It was so nice to wander around and not get blown off my feet today.

It's the same when it's getting colder for us. It's so nice to see my friends gardens blooming.

Oh they do a bit! I was thinking accidental tulips when I cut it!

The way it works with Aus Post right now is all tariffs are prepaid by the sender. So the tariffs get built into my checkout process.

I've been watching it closely to make sure all the systems were working properly! But it cleared customs perfectly.

Finally! Relief! My outgoing orders to the US are safely making it through customs.

Shipping to the US is open again!
A bar of white soap with swirls of pink and green throughout. I have somehow managed to make them look vaguely like tulips!

Masquerading as a polo pony on holidays.

We have lots and lots and lots of blossoms on the fruit trees too.
Many many many white blossoms on a pear tree. Looking up into the branches of the pear tree. It is a mass of white blossoms. Pink and white Apple blossoms on a tiny tree. Deep pink apple blossoms. These belong to an Huonville crabapple, which also has deep red leaves.

Growth! Spring might still be happening despite the weather!
Very tiny little green and red lettuce seedlings. A tiny little tatsoi plant, amongst some other seedlings with only their first two leaves showing. Tatsoi is dark green with rounded dark green leaves. An above ground garden bed, with some bird netting at the back. There are many many tiny seedlings as well as some pineapple mint coming up. A white currant bush with lots of drippy blossoms. The blossoms are yellowish, light green, and the leaves are sort of tri pointed and spiky looking. I remembered to transplant this over winter and it looks really really happy with its new position.

Yeah, he's still not fully adjusted to the house burning down. So he wanders. Once the house is rebuilt, he gets to be an indoor boy again.

He did have a meeting to attend, so I carefully deposited him back into my kids bed so he could do his duty.

They really are. I hope she keeps getting braver.
veronicaf.bsky.social
Oh they are glorious!

It was! And then he curled up on my whole keyboard and would not move. He's lucky I love his ridiculous face.

Salvation Army seen feeding ICE today. For anyone who doesn't already know about their bigotry, here is more, No need to give them your money this Christmas, or ever.

It’s dinner time for the police. Appears to be pizza from a Salvation Army van.

Broadview’s “free speech” curfew starts soon, at 6pm.

Sure, Cocoa. It's not like I need my laptop or anything.

(Still very glad he's home, he went missing for a month and arrrghhhh)
A black cat, looming over me, with the tiniest blep. He looks weirdly like a British shorthair, even though he's 100% Manky Street Kitten. He is wide eyed and a bit weird looking, but he has excellent whiskers. He is sitting on my laptop.

Also my trail cam would NOT work last night, but I think I've got it connecting to the network today, so I'll pop that into position later too. And either it will work, or we will never see them again.

It is SUCH a long road with some cats! But I firmly believe they're worth it. (Even as I know it's not a viable option for most people to spend as much time as we do)
veronicaf.bsky.social
If they've been trapped before, it's really hard! And some cats are SUPER trap savvy. I usually end up trapping round the clock for a week if I've got someone hanging around - and it usually either works or I never see them again. (Second option makes me twitch)

She did not even flinch when I kissed her head this morning! Progress!

No luck with a trap overnight. I've changed its position and reset it for today. It's now in the most sensible path between my property, the farm storage piles, and the gap under my neighbours house.

We got home tonight and a small dark cat bolted away from my studio doors. Maybe Maeve sized? Maybe smaller?

I've set a trap.
veronicaf.bsky.social
If I get a photo, absolutely! And if I manage to trap them, definitely. No luck overnight.

Hopefully they're hungry and my boys don't guard the trap.
