No costume for Timiny Cricket this year but I did catch a nice little illusion.

My kit is ill-equipped for this task but the macro lens did its best. I may need a telephoto lens for these occasions.

To be fair when I first saw it, it was curled up in a ball with a very small profile. As soon as it uncurled a bit I could see it was far too big 😂

I wanted to get a video of this ghost crab but every time I got close to their hole they scuttled back in, so I tried getting clever with it. I made a little sandcastle and shoved my phone into it, hit record, and walked away. Crab was VERY suspicious of this addition to their environment.

The young calico who adopted us last year has desperately wanted to play with her two much older sisters, but they will have none of it.

Last Friday @vexedmuddler.bsky.social and I adopted this lovable little nugget, whom we have dubbed “Timiny Cricket”.

Ah yeah, I’ve seen people paint with acrylic on regular polish too but I guess it has to be super dry. Haven’t tried it!

Ah cool, I’ve seen people do amazing and wildly complex nail art with gel! I haven’t gotten into it because I’m paranoid about my super-reactive skin but I’m envious of the people who do. I do everything with just regular lacquer 🥲
