Happy Meowloween from Jammie Dodgers (and the rest of us)!
Halloween may not be the same magnitude of event it was when I was a kid, but the magic is still alive. 🎃👻💀

1. You can't even get hot food on SNAP, much less use it for nails or "weave". It doesn't work like a credit card. Items that do not qualify do not ring up.

2. Let's call a spade a spade. That right there was not a dog whistle. It is old school pure uncut Reagan era racism. What he said was RACIST.
ROB SCHMITT: People are using SNAP benefits to get their nails done, to get their weaves and their hair. This is a really ugly program.

SEN. RON JOHNSON: That program needs to be dramatically reformed.

Huge thank you to the comedians, musicians, artists and writers who are just as mad and bewildered as the rest of us but are still doing their best to make life worth living for everyone.
And maybe we could get Hozier to do a soundtrack… 🤣

I’m just hoping they don’t ruin everything with a thick coat of AI-slop varnish.
I’m constantly hopping back and forth between my laptop and a variety of remote linux servers, so having that terminal interface readily available and (mostly) compatible with Red Hat or Ubuntu is key.

Solid dependable hardware and great battery life is a welcome accompaniment.
Though the new Liquid Glass stuff is kind of a nightmare for usability in some cases, it does make it easier to celebrate the holidays right there on your desktop. 🎃💀👻
And here is CinnaMum looking cute as she naps on her pouf in my office amidst her pile of toys.
I can’t believe I missed celebrating National Cat Day, though to be honest, that is pretty much EVERY day around here.

In any case, here is Lord Timiny of Cricket, First of his Paw, subjecting the Galilean moons to some orbital, um, “purrturbations”.
