A scruffy looking windblown juvenile bald eagle has been hanging out at our city beach of Chequamegon Bay, Lake Superior. The eye looks blue here, but was actually brown. By their 5th year the eyes will be bright yellow.

It's a #butterfly day! 🤩😍🎉🦋 Mind you, it took a 9.5km walk to find them! 🤣 With shy sun in #Lancashire it broke just before lunch, when I saw 4 speckled wood chasing each other. The top one looked very fresh, the bottom was damaged but flying well.🤞 @savebutterflies.bsky.social #joy

Two of the four speckled wood I saw today, quite a difference in colour with the more worn one below, still flying well despite it's wing tear.
