According to a Flemish folktale, a man was walking his two dogs at night when all of a sudden he saw a cat. He threw a stick at the cat because he suspected the animal was a witch. Five minutes later, he found himself surrounded by hundreds of cats who threw mud at him.

Artwork of six cats staring at something or someone in the night. There's a dog or wolf behind them with bared teeth. Black with yellow eyes. Night.

WHAT A TREASURE! Check this out!

Puckering manuscript is largely in Milton's own hand (copied before his blindness, full of his edits) including Lycidas, Comus, On Time, and - coolest of all - his notes towards his great epic.

Here's how the NYT described it in 1881 (I'll note some stuff after):

Republicans are just pretending the 30-somethings in the racist Young Republicans group chat were in high school and college, marking the first time Republicans have wanted to move on when they think someone is a teen

My name’s Dave. I’m a cartoonist and I’ve drawn a bunch of stuff here and there. Currently working on my comic Stargazer and being a little too obsessed with drawing the recent Transformers CyberWorld toys.

The GI Joe comic is more mature than the Sunbow show but it's still comparatively chaste when it comes to romance, prolly down to Larry still writing demographically for action figure buying children at the time

POLITICO: “.. They referred to Black people as monkeys and ‘the watermelon people’ and mused about putting their political opponents in gas chambers. They talked about raping their enemies .. and lauded Republicans who they believed support slavery.

This is dead on. Monroe was a wonderful actor.

This story, however, is just a ghoulish promise to paste her image into a show that showed you lots of nudity (and CGI dragons). I wonder what the attraction could be…

One of the many things I hate about AI is how it reduces everything to an (superficial) aesthetic. You can't see "Marilyn Monroe in Game of Thrones," even if (big if) Sora managed to perfectly recreate her, because you're not seeing the choices she'd have made as an actress. There's no substance.

Despite early, and familiar, copyright growing pains, Sora may be the prelude to AI-generated on-demand TV and movies

People call Snake-Eyes the Wolverine of GI Joe, but being silent and rarely knowing his inner monologue makes him COOLER than Logan in a lot of ways

This is GREAT stuff Gavin! Especially impressed by how you use the extremely limited color palette.

I took a notion to draw a wee comic last night, based on my real-life experience where I felt bad for some sticks.
Comic page. 2 Panels.

Panel 1: Me walking my dog in the woods.

Caption: Not to brag - but I walk my dog, okay/

Caption: We often find ourselves in the local woods.

Panel 2: Me looking at a big stretch of boggy muck.

Caption: There's this one big stretch of boggy muck on the pack we take.

Caption: You're probably thinking that we just shouldn't go this way. Hey you might be right. First time for everything, as they say. Comic page. 1 Panel

Panel 1: Me and the dog walking over the boggy muck, elevated on sticks laid into the dirt.

Caption: Every few weeks, though - someone lays down a very useful series of branches so we can cross with ease.

Caption: That's nice isn't it? Someone taking the time and expending the effort to build a little bridge.

Caption: I often wonder who it is. Perhaps it's more than just one person. That's a comforting thought.

Panel 2: Me looking at a big stretch of boggy muck.

Caption: There's this one big stretch of boggy muck on the pack we take.

Caption: You're probably thinking that we just shouldn't go this way. Hey you might be right. First time for everything, as they say. Comic Page - 1 Panel. Me crossing the sticks, we see all the previous sticks crushed down deep into the dark mud.

Caption: It's funny how guilty I feel when a branch breaks - like I've undone their good work, y'know?

Caption: But within a weeo or two, there's a new set of branches ready to be trodden into the mud.

Caption: It's hard not to think about all those other branches, crushed down deper in the dark with every new layer. Comic Page 2 panels.

Panel 1: Me standing in the woods looking down at the path.

Caption: maybe it's my turn to lay down some branches for the next folk who come this way.

Caption: God knows it wouldn't take long - and I definitely have the time.

Panel 2: Shot of my hands holding the sticks I'd need.

Caption: Nah

Take a few minutes to appreciate Drew Struzan creating the original artwork for THE PHANTOM MENACE. Truly a master at work.
