One of the few things about short term memory loss is that I can pull pranks on myself. An easy way to do that is deliberately let my phone timeout with, say, zoomed-in photos of Brian Blessed from Flash Gordon on the screen so that this is the first thing I see when I pick it back up

Brian Blessed's ridiculous character Prince Vultan from 1980's "Flash Gordon." Brian Blessed is known for playing absurdly over-the-top characters and his explosively loud, booming voice. He is very muscular, has a black beard, is holding a metal war mace, and has an uncomfortably huge tooth grin. He is wearing an ostentatious gold, winged helmet; he has massive black-and-gold feathered wings sprouting from his back (yes, he flies with them); his armor, if it could be called that, is all black leather straps and overlapping black-and-gold leather "feathers." It leaves a lot of skin exposed. Leather Daddies at Pride would tell him to dial it back a bit. If this were a female character in a video game, it would probably be patched to cover more up, or the player just forgot to put gear in the Legs slot.

In short, Brian Blessed single-handedly made Flash Gordon a work of camp legend.

So as it turns out . . . I'm gonna need my knee replaced. Which I was dreading but not surprised about, it's pretty much bone-on-bone in there. Not really looking forward to becoming a cyborg, but them's the breaks.
