Procreate is another amazing tool! I use it myself while on the go.

The hard part is learning the new medium. The skills and knowledge you had will transfer over once you understand the program and how it feels to draw on such a different surface. I highly recommend a screen tablet if you are coming from traditional, go with Wacom, but if you cant, do XPpen

Traditional art still feels a lil weird for me. I love the process and been having a ton of fun. That said it’s still far enough removed from my digital work that my brains doesn’t immediately connect it with myself.

You must do figure drawing YOU MUST, preferably in person with a proper lighting set up (if possible) or follow advice from an instructor online. I promise nothing will level up your skills as much as figure drawing when it comes to understanding form and light/shadow, even if you don’t draw people

I had a dream about falling into a bush in a foggy field, and in it lived a massive red rattlesnake; I dreamed that she both bit me and spared me at the same time

There is something so captivating about how Robert Bateman captured the wildlife he painted. Distilling a sense of energy a healthy respect and distance he captured making each scene almost dream like.

Don’t know who needs to hear this but stop quitting your job to do artist alley and conventions, there are no benefits or health insurance and it is so unpredictable and the competition is worse than trying to get into Harvard lol
