To clarify, jokes about someone who was a piece of shit being dead are fine within 5 minutes. But when you add in them being the victim of violence/a violent crime, that changes things a little. At least to me.

UNLESS they were a convicted pedophile or something similar, as in this case.

The Wicker Man remake is different enough in setting and set-up that it, to me, doesn't feel as nearly as much as a disservice to the original as The Fog remake does despite both of those remakes being terrible.

Avoid the remake like the plague. Up there with The Wicker Man remake among terrible horror film remakes, but worse because at least The Wicker Man remake can be "so bad it's good" if you are in the right frame of mind.
